VT Senator low oil pressure

Hey guys I have a 1999 VT Senator 5L
When its cold it drives fine but once it heats up. my oil light comes on but only when the revs drop below 1000rpm.
Any idea's......

tried giving it a service? hows the oil level? what does the oil look like?(black or a clean yellow/brown?) have you tried putting on an oil pressure gauge on?

Maybe using wrong oil?? maybe the oiling is thingin out to much as its heats up.. wat about below 1k rpm at cold temp? maybe if ony under 1k rpm might be oil pump.. not really sure
