Leads or spark plugs. My money is on a faulty lead.

Thanks mate, i have replaced the plugs with bosch super plus, was thinking on doing the leads but wasn't sure. i took it for a strap before after changing the plugs and it did it once and then hasn't done it since. the leads look like originals so probably should replace them. thanks

hey guy's well i replaced the plugs as i said and i have put new ignition leads on and it is running like a shitter, only under load. once it starts to pick up it runs perfect but then once i flatten it it splutters and then stops doing it, any other suggestions. there is no water in the oil or vice verser si it can't be getting into the plugs to do this. i'm stumped

Did the problem start before or after you changed the plugs? Usually when a miss occurs under load it is something electrical, plugs. leads, coil etc.

I would be looking at the coil packs next but it gets a bit expensive just replacing things in the hope that it fixes the problem. Do you know anyone with the same car you could swap coil packs with to see how it goes?

Get a multimeter and check the primary and secondary resistance.
    Primary resistance: 0.3 -1.5 ohms.
    Secondary resistance: 5-7 k/ohms

Yes it does, but test the old ones first. You don't want to waste any more money, although new plugs and leads is not really a waste if they haven't been replaced in a while.

Sounds like 2&5 is the problem. Did you double check it?

yeah i have checked it numerouse times, but it is running ok, but then i just checked it and it is reading nothing still. took it for a run flattenened it and it started spitting, then i turned aroud and went back and it didn't spit. so i'm guessing it is the coil pack 2&5
