Cat-back exhaust for VX
hey i was just wondering if getting an exhaust from the cat-back on my VX Berlina would do any good, or will it just make it louder? i used to have one on my VR and i did notice that it would pick up alot quicker plus it sounded more beefier which i like.
cheers.

anything that increases the rate at which exhaust gasses are expelled will improve both throttle response and fuel economy...marginally though...but any increase is a good thing eh?

Cat Back 4 VX
The cat back system on ur ecotec will be identical 2 ur vr alot louder and not alot of performance gain. If u want performance go the full system and ya would appreciate it alot more than a half job. All depends on the funds. For $300 buks ya get a loud ecotec so yeah all depends what ur after i guess a nice gen III vt SS tip would finish off the job niceley not a dumb canon i seen on a vx today - oh god damn i thought 2 my self .
Go the Lukey m8!

I've got VX2 Executive which is dual fuel. I'm after an exhaust which will ROARR.. I don't really care about performance.
Does being dual fuel affect anything?

I bought a 2 1/2" Redback cat-back system including fittings and a nice chrome tip for $244 delivered to my door (Sydney), from Disc Brake Solutions (Rutherford, NSW). The supplier includes a 2 year warranty.
It took a very easy 1 hour to fit and it definately has a nice sound, although it can resonate through the car from about 1500-3000 rpm under heavy load.
When looking at the complete system the catalytic converter is the bottleneck now. There are pipes from both banks, pushing exhaust gases through the small, stock cat, before the system opens into a larger diameter.
I can send the contact details if anyone is interested.
Cheers,
Mark.

Details would be great. When you say easy fit, was it simply a bolt-on kit or was there welding involved?

correct me if im wrong, but arent the redbacks press bent (rather than mandrel bent)? Im looking at an exhaust myself...... I love the sound of the reback system (its not too lout and not too quiet), but I dont want a press bent system.
