Transmission oil change

The workshop manual for my vt says to change the tranni oil after ever 110,000 klm's. I spoke to a holden dealership about getting my oil changed again as it has done 70'000klm's since last time it was changed. He said the tranni oils of today last the 110,000k's. Is he spinning me shit or is this correct. The reason I am asking is that my previous car was a commodore vc and the workshop manual stated the oil should be changed at about 40,000k's or 2 years. can someone provide me the correct answer. I own a VS and if im not mistaken the book sais to change every 80,000. Though i have always done mine every 40,000,and along with a transmission cooler,could explain why i have nearly clocked up 300,000 kms with the original tranny
