anyone got one or installed one?
how do they go on the v6 vt's?
just looking for something cheap and good for performance?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
cheers
corvette servo for performance??????????????????????
You saw right, for performance...... By cutting down the time it takes to shift it helps your 0-100.... So its a performance mod
I dont have one but im pretty sure it comes with details on how to install it, also search in google and it will come up with a bunch of sites with tutorials...
Im assuming it would make a difference in all commodores? Pretty much i have heard its worth the $$$
Hey I have one installed. You can do it yourself if your good with tools and can safely raise your car to get under it.
It slightly changes the slow/smooth gear change from 1st to 2nd, to a quicker one. Not really a performance mod imho. But it's something cheap to do
Cheers,
Dennis
yer id say performance,
its like a shift kit and id say thats performance?
im looking for bottem end performance, im happy enough with topend
so im thinking what i could invest in
A corvette servo improves the 2nd gear apply and hold because it has a larger surface area than the stocker. It's not hard to install but there are a bunch of things that you can do wrong.
Vette servo on the left clearly has a much bigger apply surface
This is an instruction sheet on how to set up and install the servo

People install them in addition to a shift kit, and yeah of course it's performance..... do you put it in there for looks????
Unsure how it affects the shift on a VT but it makes a HUUUUUGE difference on the VN/P box goes from a taxi to chasis snapping
would any transmission or mechanic carry these? or would you have to buy it yourself and take it too them. (Ive seen them on eBay)
You would probably be best to buy it and take it there. A gearbox man should be able to get in done in a hour I'd say
This is about the cheapest you'll get. I bought all my stuff from this guy and it comes with instructions.

how much is it for one of these?
and will it make much differnce on a vs?
just curious about wet weather? driving normally? are the wheels going to spin? or on when you put your foot down?
Absolutely sideways at full throttle on the shift in the rain (and dry for me) but fine at part throttle, the less revs you are doing the softer it shifts. At not much throttle it just feels about the same as the shift on a modern (brand new) car. Mine will kick sideways in the rain at more than day 1/4 throttle around a corner even at 2000 rpm but I mean you don't need to go 1/4 throttle. It's not cool to be taking the whole lane if the cops are comming the other way so you don't go silly with it
I been looking into one of these myself but do any of you just have a corvette servo by them selves or are you using a shift kit as well ? and does it have any affects on the computer with shifting ?
got quoted 220 for parts and installation? im thinking 50 bucks off ebay and a next door neighbor mechanic might be the way to go?
I put my corvette servo in the other day after a lot of dramas with getting it out because of clearance issues ( even though acess to it was fine) and also the clip popped off on my test drive leaving a trail of trans fluid and smoke for a couple of hundred meters which still leads to my drive way
but once I found the clip after looking for forty minutes and topping up the trans fluid ,I was really impressed with the snappy 2nd & 4th gear changes
Why 4th, did you do the 3-4 apply piston as well?
