Hi All,
A mate at work is having trouble with his VT V6 exec, its been stalling a few times in peak hour traffic, I suspect that the good old crank angle sensor will be at fault, just as it was with my VS a number of years back. Is checking the error codes on the VT the same as the VS? From memory it was bridging pins 5 and 6 on the OBDII connector under the steering wheel?
I had a quick flick through the articles section here and there seems to be heaps fewer error codes for the VT than the VS, and there is no specific code for a crank angle sensor failure for the VT, whereas there is for the VS.
Any info appreciated!
Cheers
Yep, pin 5/6 should do it.
My manual doesn't mention CAS, but does say code 48 is the Camshaft Position Sensor, which may be the same thing? Also says that particular code doesn't trigger the check engine light.
