Default Rubber Coupling

Own a VT SS series 2 and the Rubber Coupling gear box end that connects to tailshaft is stuffed.. Holdens want $370 for the part. Any one out there ever installed the part themselves ? Or is there and easier way out instead of having to pay that huge amount of money for a piece of rubber..ANY ideas or how to do would be appreciated..
Thanks

The actual coupling itself is not that hard to fit. but when you are looking at the price, consider the job that little piece of rubber does. we use something very similar at work on our rock screens. 150Kw electric motor drives a 19 tonne screen. all through a piece of rubber. amazing stuff.

How about a second hand tailshaft. Probably quicker to fit too. I have a spare V6 tailshaft if they are the same or the coupling is the same. Where you at Tiga.
