Have some problems with my VX running really rough.
Checked the fault code but not sure how to read it properly.
I got 10 flashes, then 1, then 1, then 3.
Can anyone tell me what the code is?
Thanks.
So code 12 flashed 3 times first, THEN you got that error code?
There is a small gap between the flashes to indicate the next number.
EG:
FLASH-FLASH--FLASH
Where - is a pause. Indicates code 21.
If there's more than one code stored then there will be a pause of 2.5 seconds between each code. Once all codes have been displayed, a pause of 4.5 seconds happens in which case the error codes are then repeated.
Reason i asked if that was right is because that code isn't possible! 10 flashes does not exist!
Have a look at this earlier post.
Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
Says it all!
Didn't get a code 12 this time. Have got one every other time I have checked.
The VX uses a 4 digit code. For example code twelve is displayed as:
10 flashes
10 flashes
1 flash
2 flashes
So that would make the code 0113 but can't find any reference to it.
The car is running really rough on idle and has a bad miss when you accelerate. When the revs pick up it seems fine. Has almost no power on take off. This only started yesterday morning. Was running fine the night before.
Checked plugs, hi tension lead resistances, primary and secondary coil resistances, IAC resistance.
Any ideas?
A 4 digit code isn't a DTC code, that would most likely be a PCM code. In which case P0113 is:
Intake Air Temperature Signal too high.
Cause: IAT sends a signal greater than 4.9V [4.9V indcates a temp of -36 degrees celcius (that's ok if you live in Antartica)]
Procedure:
1. Inspect the harness and conector
2. Check IAT terminal resistance [i'll be able to provide values for you later], under sensors.
3. Check circuit 472 (brown) PCM terminal D7 for short to earth OR IAT earth.
4. Check fault code again.
5. Faulty PCM if you reach this stage.
There is fixes at each stage if something doesn't pass, so let me know.
