cold starts

we have 1998 vt berlina commodore my commodore has been to every holden dealership in perth with problem with cold starts and wen running it stalls and surges until the temp gauge goes up to half way. also the fuel gauge plays up now and again and we also discovered that the main power lead to alternator was burnt out which we repaired but we still have the same problem with the cold starts no one seems to no wat the problem is thay plug it into the computer and say there is no problem. we have also had crank angle sensor replaced and spark plug leads but still have the promblem hopefully someone can help us with this problem cause no one seems to no wat the problem is

Hey mate

I had the a simular problem with my 1999 VTII Commodore, I took it to a few mechanics and Holden and it always came back with no fault found. Untill one day I left it with a mechanic overnight and it happened to him, he took to one of his auto electrician friends and it ended up being a cheap $5 relay, the car now it very close back to normal, but I also had the crack angle senor and others replaced. I love my VT and glad to have it back
