Vt remote engine start question

Hey guys i have a VT Ex-cop car. it is executive with no alarm. i want to install a aftermarket alarm with REMOTE ENGINE START, so i can start the car with a remote.

i have heard from people that you cant install a remote start with vt and vx commodores. is this true? if it isnt can anyone sugest a alarm system that will suit me thanks.

You can normally wire in a resistor into the remote start that sends a signal to the computer when activated to make it think the keyhead is in the ignition. But you have to work out the resistor though cause any old one won't work. That's how I overcame it on a statesman I previously owned.
