Eclipse Lights for Calais Berlina HSV VR VS VT VX VY VZ - eBay Other Lights, Indicators, Lights, Indicators, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 06-May-09 13:19:41 AEST)
U reckon its worth it ? or just replace it with the standard bulb from holden ?
thanks alot !![]()
Yeah their definetly worth it.
Theyre noticibly whiter and have a clearer view especially of road signs.
Kmart sells autotechnica ones for i believe $30 and theyre just as good.
oh maddd might go n have a look tomorrow at kmart, need to pick up new rubber for the wipers aswell
thanks for that ozzie![]()
if ya looking for a defect go for it
i had some and were crap in the wet absolute junk
get some narva 50+ or Philip's extra white 44 bux most auto shops pack 2
any globe with blue glass is illegal (in SA anyways) and really lights up signs fine but nothing else
oh i didnt know they were illegal :S but i thought it puttin out pure white light not the blue white ? ill check out the phillips ones aswell at auto1 wen i go
The correct size globe is 60/55w. The ones in the link are 100/90w and might be too hot.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
The autotecnica ones I bought were fine in the wet + I live across the road from a cop shop and never been defected.
They had a chrome/blue look to the globe though, those ones look like theyll throw off more of a blue tinge.
My current low beams are white 100/55w H1 (standard commodore high beam)
And yet my lights are ADR aproved?
60/55 is legal for road us and is factory globes and after market
if you run 100w youll prolly melt/tarnish ya plastic headlight if ya run for long time
100s will melt your lights. we just bought the ultra whits from supercheap and theyre great. makes the old ones orange
i do as the voices tell me
how much were the ultra whites ? so these will not melt anything ?
There are 2 things to consider here. Firstly - do they comply with the relevant Australian Design Rules? Just be cause some guy has them in his car for 5 years without being booked is not grounds to claim compliance. Secondly, do you have any consideration for the poor guy coming back the other way getting dazzled by your uber cool headlights?
Reaper
$35 a pair. so much better than the old ones. still only 55/60. upgraded the parkers and the high beam bulbs as well due to the others looking horrid against the white ones
i do as the voices tell me
whats wrong of trying too put your old car into the 21st century.
the cop and there old rules , all around the world cars are allowed to use these bulbs and aftermarket Xenon and only the aussie gov. has a problem with them.
they give more light and there for more safety on the road.
but thats aussie gov. for ya they allways try to invent the wheel again....
just put them in your car....... i did
i only want them for my missuses car because the low beam is very weak ? dunno if this happens with age , the hi beam is great though , if i dont use these bulbs , what would you suggest i get so that my wife can see , coz she drives down some badly lit streets on the way home from work ?
thx guys for d feedback
i just ended up reaplacing them with standard glodes and just polished up my headlights to get that yellow tint out of them so there more clear now the lens![]()
Check out the lighting system on the car. Are the headlight lenses genuine items or has it been smashed at some stage and replaced with cheap after market ones??? Also, for the last 10 - 15 years headlight lenses have been progressively changed over to plastic. Many of the older types are going milky or yellow which significantly effects performance.
