Default putting mini spool in vt s1 diff

Just wondering how you go about putting a mini spool in, how much it will cost and it's worth while? cheers!

STOP doing burnouts then. There is no way known you could have chewed a set of tyres in 3-4 months. My tyres lasted over a year, DAILY driving it to work (plus a few fun hills runs aswell) and only ended up bald when i decided it was time for new ones and finished them off.

Get what you want. A spool is really only for a car that does burnouts, or needs traction at the drags/track. If your just getting a spool for the sake of having a spool, i don't think you'll benifit from it.

Nah not at all, thats the reason i want one more traction, but the more i read about it i think it's a waste of time in the 6, and was going to get diff serviced, replace bearings etc cause it's making a whineing noise so thought i could put one in while it's apart, thats all thanks anyway!

Theres something else going on there, or you bought budget tyres. I have a VP Calais, so the same shitty IRS (and no camber kit)

Your either driving very hard on your daily driving, or you have other suspension problems not related to the camber.

Yeah i wouldn't suggest a spool, an LSD will be fine for what you need. Burnouts kill LSDs, if your not doing any, the LSD will be fine.

$700 worth of 20in tyres on the back of the Statesman and down to wear indacators within a few months with LSD.

The good old wet weather makes spools dangerous myth. Just as easy to kill yourself with an LSD as it is a spool, depends WHO the driver is

Only going by my experience.Drove an old HJ years ago with a CIG locker, pulled out of a 7/11 and hardly put the foot down and did a quick 180.
If you think a wet road is less dangerous than a dry road with either a spool or LSD then you are kidding yourself.

If you pulled out of a 7/11 with an LSD and put the foot down a little bit, you would have also done a 180. Drive to the conditions next time.

I never said anything about the effects of water on the road. I said a spool is no more dangerous than an LSD in the exact same situation!
Once again, its the driver. If i can drive through a monsoon and not stack it, surely its not the car thats the problem....

i totally agree with the driving to the conditions but yes spools are more dangerous only due to the fact that one wheel is constanly skipping even when slight cornering so yes it would be more dangerous in the wet as it would/could cause you two slide a little easier.

but im all for spools as long as you drive acordingly. ie change driving habits

well once again as in the 40 billion other threads about spools i have to agree with stealthy... alot of the people who have something bad to say about them either havnt driven one or have only been in a car with one...

both me and stealthy have had spools in daily drivers and ive had 3 cars with spools all up and never had a problem with them, as was said an lsd is just as dangerous with the wrong driver as a spool is no matter the weather conditions.

and as for tyre wear its not as bad as people say it is unless your deliberately doing burnouts everywhere...

How is a spool going to help you stop wheel spinning? LSD is what you want.

EDIT: Not having a crack at spools by the way, but they're for a particular purpose, which doesn't sound like what the OP actually wants/needs.

Spools aren't more dangerous! I could send my Nana out in my car in the wet, on slicks, and she still wouldn't lose traction. Yes, a wheel is constantly skipping, but it take x amount of force to break traction. I'd much rather a spool that i know will spin 2 wheels, than a ****ed LSD that will spin 2 wheels through first, then open wheel in 2nd, resulting in your car in a tree.
