cd player button

hi, i have a vx with the stock cd player.
i want to remove the button for changing the bass and treble with a different button,i don't want to just pull it off until i know how to remove it without breaking it,any help please?

Hey there,

What's wrong with it? I assume you mean the volume knob? To change the knob you will need a soldering iron, solder sucker and solder as the knob is soldered on.

To take the face off unscrew the 2 small screws on each side and pull off gently.



Then you will see about 8 small gold screws. Unscrew them to remove board from the face plate.



This is what the knob looks like,



You will need a solder sucker and unsolder these 5 circled ,



Reverse the procedure to put everything back. The face connects via these 2 connections.
