I just gotta find a day I can finish work early and head down there and chat to them. I tried emailing them trying to get some workshop hours, hoping I would be able to duck down there on a Saturday. They emailed me a price of their drive in drive out Cam package and I just facepalmed so I had to call them. Turns out theyre only open on weekdays.
The goal is getting as close to 300rwkw as I can now. Just wanna sus out what stuff I should be doing whilst the heads are off.
yep, no Sat's is a hassle. I've gotta pull another 35rwkw outta my arse to make 300 haha
I will, hopefully, be going a bigger cam than you. Yours is still, for the most part, a regular drive about yeah?
One thing that concerns me about LSX, is they push Magnatec on their websiteDO NOT WANT!
yep, mines still a daily doing 10.5 L/100 which ain't too bad. My cam is only a baby 223/223 so I'd hope you'd go with a bigger stick. Something like a 228/23x would be perfect, plus heads would do 300rwkw. LSX like camtech cams but just buy what you want from the states and get em to do it. Speed Inc is where I got all my stuff from with zero hassles. As for the oil, yeah, BYO.
There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.
Ill have to see what they say about supplying shit and how much they will sting me for Labor in lieu of charing for parts.
Cause I can get everything through work dirt cheap. New pistons are easily sourced, got a customer who does a lot of headwork for the V8 ute series etc and weve actually got a Crow i think its a baby cam sitting on the shelf for my car![]()
So went and brought a nice fancy car cover etc for it today. Its going undercovers now
Went and gave it a nice wash and took some pics before she got hidden away.

Hi mate i am sure its in the thread some where but who done the centre of your rims for you ?
Custom job.
Rims are originally either silver with black spokes or black with silver spokes. The place i got the wheels from - FDO - arranged to have them done (it only took me laying down the 3 grand for the wheels and a week of them apparently doing nothing - then another week of me ringing them and chasing my ####ing wheels to get done, but it got done. The center caps unbolt from the wheel and the wheel actually looks pretty tough as just a plain black wheel.
Ive got some spare ones sitting here. I wanna get them painted up in a red marble or something for show.
why is it going under cover ?
Got a work ute - The Burson Race Car - as some call themSo its officially no longer a daily driver.
Credit card is all payed off and Ive got cash sitting here for mods. Whenever I get a chance to duck down to LSX Garage itll be going in for PROBABLY, Heads, Cam and seeing what we can do in the way of new pistons and pushrods. Will probably be in 5-6 weeks when the other guy at work gets off holidays.
Ive also been tossing up the idea of a new engine. But I need to check the compatability of the LS2/3 with the T56.
My whole driveway and where I park the car in the backyard is surrounded by trees that drop petals and shit in the wind so needed to cover it up.
Well it went to another well known LS1 tuner and quite frankly I got burned.
He rang me early in the day saying he wouldnt do a Dyno Run without an oil change. Fair enough, I had the car for a week and hadn't done it yet, so I said well while youre there do plugs and leads.
10,000 km later I checked the leads (if even that, at the time i rarely drove the car and the plugs looking absolutely normal, no abnormal wear signs) and if they were changed ill eat 10 dicks, big black ones. One of them was so corroded im surprirsed I didnt have a miss.
Talking to other people that have been there have noted the same thing. Charging them for things they didnt want, charging them for shit that he didnt do.
Another member took their car to LSX and they were, frankly, shocked to see how bad the tune was on his car. There are also many other reports about his work whuch im sure certain members on here will be happy to divulge into, but in the end Ill be looking at LSX and also looking at Autotechnique in Ferntree Gully. Whoever sits down and has a good talk to me about my options will get my work, thats what I want from a workshop, someone you can talk to about everything, someone who explains stuff and someone that in the end you can trust with your car.
Ok, so small update.
Starting to get things done before it goes in for power upgrades.
First step:
Arrived today. Nice shiny clutch and chromoly flywheel. Got it dirt ####ing cheap to

looks the goods, should bite nice too, ive got an xtreme clutch in the e21
Yeah, apparently its supposed to be self adjusting and is supposed to feel very similar to the stock clutch so well see how it goes. Im still expecting to stall it 10 times when I leave.
My brother just walked in and is like, so when you putting it in? Putting it in yourself? Im like yeah go try and lift it. Thing weighs an absolute ####ing ton. So ill get it done next week by one of our customers, he said 300 bucks cash so i wont complain
Just gotta go find some Penrite MGO70-75, the only Burson store that carries it is Carrum Downs (because of Chevs) and If i order some I have to order a boxSo ill go get some from Carrum tomorrow

Also, note to self. Do not park the car on grass, then air out. Moved the car and the grass under the cats was smoldering
