Default My VT Executive series II (first car)

Hey Everyone, this is my first car and as you can tell it is a VT. it is completely stock and is in pretty good condition. As I am new to this whole thing I would really appreciate some suggestions on what i can do to this car to make it:

    1. look nice and mean
    2. give it some grunt and power

but most importantly i want to know the best way to make my VT sound big and mean and turn heads.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

    thanks.

hey mate, congrats on the first car.
there are alot of options on what you could do and how far to take it. for 'turning heads' you'd start looking at big wheels i rekon, first up. then bodykits, tint etc. Also lowering..
as for some grunt, extractors and an exhaust system give it a bit more, same with a cold air induction. but if you want alot, you could go turbo, blower or strocker kit.

generally though, a good place to start is a set of lowered springs, maybe some new shocks. look at getting some wheels and a catback to get you started, in my opinion.

Most of all though, make sure its well serviced and up to date.
    Cheers mate

looks like its tinted already, so thats one thing you dont have to worry about. grunt and the ecotec dont go hand in hand really, but look at some rockers, exhaust + intake, and from what i've seen, the manifold spacers from mace give some more bottom end.

thanks guys, yeah im looking to do the exhaust, wheels and lowering first. do you know how much that would set me back $$ wise.

and also what would you recommend as far as exhaust systems go?

i had wildcat extractors on my old v6, which are the pipes that come out of the engine, and a single 2.5inch system, which set me back $900 all up. bout 600 for extractors(headers) and 300 for the pipes..

wheels all depends on what ur after andwhat u like mate, its all about looking thru heaps of websites on the web and sussing out what u like, what sizes ur after etc, personally i wont go much above 19's, mainly because theyre so easy to scratch and tires can cost a fair bit.
a set of 18's with rubber could cost u between $1600-$1800
    19's ~ $2000
    20's ~ $2300 and upwards.
stick to 18's id say tho mate if its ur first ride

and lowering ud pay about $400
for some lowered springs (king springs superlows is the legal limit thereabouts)
will see u sitting nice and low without attracting too much cop attention..

so about 3grand to get u started mate.....start saving
    and good luck!
450 good reasons to just power on

    yeaahhh

    Hey man,

    Sweet first car!

As with mine I had a ton of ideas running through my head and wound up with a $7,000 stereo system... My advice would be set yourself a budget before you start doing anything, or you'll end up spending too much cash and upgrading the same parts more than once!

In regards for what you want out of your car, a good exhaust with some extractors will give you a real nice note and as for looks maybe try and find yourself a nice set of rims and a HSV bodykit or something but chances are your going to end up in a prang or two so don't spend your life savings on the thing. When looking at power out of your V6, don't plan on going too far or you'll end up with a machine like mine and be scared that if you write it off you wont even get 1/4 of the money back that you put in.
