Default Thurlz' VT Acclaim Series 2

Hey all, I recently signed up to these forums and have been learning heaps of new things every day since. Being a car novice, I absolutely love it.

Also got my first car the other day, so thought I might post it up here and update the thread each time I do something new to it. Enjoy!

    Name: Daniel
Nickname: Thurlz (Nickname i picked up in high school that stuck lol)
My Ride: A Bermuda Blue 2000 VT Commodore Acclaim, Series II - V6 Auto

    My future plans/ideas:
    - Remove the bloody towbar - Done
    - Fix damn aerial haha - Done
    THEN..
    - 18" VY SS Rims - Done
    - Lower it Kingspring SL's all round - HAVE PART BUT NOT INSTALLED
    - 2.5" Catback - Done
    - ASR blue accessory/needles with white dial dash conversion - Done
    - VY SS Pedals - Done
    - VT SS Skirts - Done
    - VT SS Rear Bar - Done
    - VX SS Front Bar - Done
    - De-badge - Done
    - Remove side strips - Done
    - New sound system
    - Leather Steering Wheel
    - Leather Shifter/Handbrake

Also, a mate(denii) and myself installed some LED's into the front and rear footwell's the other day, which I think look nice and neat when the door opens at night. (Can see slightly in pics, but too light. Might take some in dark later on)

    Enjoy
Will update next time anything interesting happens to the car, haha, might be a while as i've been strapped for cash lately.

EDIT: Minor update, got the VT SS rear bar and side skirts on. Kinda hard to see in the new pic. Will get a better one soon, but when i look at the before and after shots i'm already stoked and I haven't finished yet. Oh and also got the cat back on now. -ANOTHER UPDATE, GOT MY DASH CONVERSION LAST NIGHT.

Greg is a great bloke! Does a top job, I am stoked with the results. Will post some pics shortly.

Next to come: Lower my baby. Then a sound system to top it all off.

Nice base mate, rims will look really good once lowered and with the VX SS kit, will look just like mine lol. Most mods on your list are the mods on my to do list too, so we will probably have the same looking car in the end

Thanks, haha can't wait til mine starts looking a bit more like yours

Also, another little update VY SS mats thanks to mum's boyfriend (considering almost everything I'm putting on the car will be ss) and a pic of the LED footwell's in action.
Not sure if I'm going to keep them or upgrade them when Phreddy comes to Melbourne next though. Enjoy

Cheers The wheels have always been a true love, had to be the first thing I got for the car.

sweet VT thurlz, looks awesome, your paint looks really clean, do you polish it? or just clean it really well before photos?

Cheers mate, it's been garaged most it's life, so that has helped. And I have polished it once, but yeah mainly just give it a good clean before the photos.

    Cheers Isaac.

The gray strips were a huge pain in the arse! I peeled them off slowly.. But unfortunately took some paint with. But then used a Caramel Wheel on the end of a drill to get the rest of the sikafix/glue stuff off. Then bit of touch up paint, and cut and polish. Still not 100%, but looks good enough for me and can't notice unless you get close up. In my opinion, looks heaps better than the strips..

Lthl the project list is surprisingly going well, I did not expect to have this much done already.. Sound system, lower and a bit of interior work is all I really got left. Then it will just be really minor things and maybe some performance mods.
I saw you mentioned maybe a 5.0L or Supercharged 6 on yours? That would be unreal, i'd be looking into that in the next few years.

what sort of performance are you going to do? yea the Supercharged 6 is what i am leaning to, just have to make sure it is properly tuned, we had a cruise on sunday and a few of the supercharged boys had a few problems lol. need to get some photos up mate show us your progress.

I put 2 new ones up in the first post, though they aren't great shots. Gotta get my hands on my camera and take some better shots maybe this weekend or when I get back from QLD (November)
I just got my VX SS Front bar and headlights, so planning on spraying that once I get back from my trip and putting that on.. Can't wait!

And I'm not sure, can only really think of roller rockers, extractors, CAI maybe and a tune. *Shrug* haha

Definitely catch him next time! This happened to me the Melb road trip before, had no money. But I wasn't going to miss out this time! Took about 4-5 hours I think, though we had a minor problem which threw in an extra 30mins or so.
Was interesting to see what he does though, it looks unreal and Greg is just a great guy - Very easy to chat with and have a laugh.
