yip.
Nothing burnings and some black spray paint can't fix![]()
Haha cool, see how we go. So far I'm happy with it as is, it's 10x better than what it was, I've gotta finish up my engine covers this week and then save up a bit and get a new exhaust. (and find/fix whatever is knocking in front from time to time again).
No worries,
If you're not in a hurry I'm play around with front entrance 5ltr manifolds atm. (OTR?)

Went to book in to get my pipes done today.
Didn't have the pacemaker headers so couldn't do it tomorrow
the guy is gonna call me back when he's got them and we'll book in from there. SO should be next week.
Looking forward to extractors and the high flow cats I've got from xplode on here, and a new cat back twin system.
should sound sweeeeeet
Well after about a month or whatever it's been I finally got around to finishing my engine covers after stuffing them up a couple times :P
This is what I started with.
This is it part finished before I started playing around with things and stuffing it :P
And this is the final product.
I had to buy another can of the blue and it turned out to be a better colour than the first can I got even though it was the same stuff... sweeet!

hey this car is identical to my car :-) have you done much else to it lately?? it looks pretty clean
engine cover looks sweet man , blue looks the part
Cheers guys,
Stews, haven't done anything else to it just yet, Should have a new exhaust system on it this week. Would've already gotten it but the exhaust place didn't have my headers in stock.
Can't wait till that's done.
Trayner, definitely happy with the outcome. The original blue it started off as changed to a much darker blue, but I'm happy with the change, it came out better than I feel the lighter colour would have!
Looking forward to gradually cleaning up the whole engine bay (getting rid of the red dust spots and so on that the previous owners had let build up due to their country driving)
Extractors, high flow cats and twin 2.5" cat back goes on this Thursday... pretty pumped, can't wait!
Engine covers came up awesome mate! Im hopefully doing mine soon as well. What paint did you use for yours? And did you do anything to prep them prior to painting or just made sure they were clean and then sprayed them?
I posted up a thread in the photoshop thread which turned into a more of a spray painting thing.
Basically I prepped the original surface by spraying with wax and grease remover. Sanding back with something like 180 grit to smooth it out.
Another coat of wax an grease remover.
Then sprayed with primer.
Then sanded/smoothed with 600 grit wet.
sprayed the colour and then originally did a sand with 1-2k grit very lightly and then sprayed again.
Ended up finding the difference between dusting coats and then a slightly thicker coat to give it a bit of gloss.
I watered down the parts to remove dust/build up etc sometimes. especially after sanding and then would pat dry with a cloth. Whether you're supposed to or not I dunno :P
Used high temp engine enamel for mine.
Pipes are on and FK they are loud and awesome
sounds so much better. I was worried all day I'd be paying all this money and not get much out of them.
Potentially a bit TOO loud, but otherwise very happy, it's nice not having ya exhaust banging around etc.
Kevin at Mettams Mufflers on Gt Eastern Hwy in Belmont, top guy and the system was well priced.
Have pacemaker extractors
the X-plode high flow cats and a 2.5" cat back. the cat back has only one set of mufflers about mid way I think and that's it.
twin pipes at the back look so much better than my shitting single that I used to have!
took some pics, but they're shit so I'll get some more with video if I can.
