    Default My VT V8 wagon

    Gday, I sunk this thread without a trace. MASSIVE UPDATE TIME. My names Andrew, I'm 22, and I've had this car nearly two years now.

    Model: VT Series I Executive
    Year: 12/1997
    Colour: Capricorn Green

    Engine Type: 195i 5.0
    Engine Mods: HSV CAI
    Diff: LSD, 3.45:1
    Exhaust: Extractors, high flow cats, 2.5" twin system. Once was a straight through after cats. Got sick of the massive noise, put muffler on rear, now sick of its slightly less massive noise.
    Trans: 5 speed manual, RPM Heavy duty clutch

    Engine: Pulled the sucker out at 210,000 k's, gave it a big-ass overhaul. Kept the crank, rods and pistons - replaced everthing else. It's got about 6,000 k's on it now.

    Brakes: Slotted rotors, EBC Green pads
    Suspension: FE2, KYB shocks, urethane bushes
    Wheels/Tyres: 18" VY Clubsport, 18x8, GT Radial HPY tyres @ 235/40

    Exterior:
    HBD Manta style bodykit
    Genuine V2 Monaro headlights
    Foglights
    Chrome Calais grilles
    Removed roof racks
    HSV roundel badges front and rear - NO other badges

    Interior:
    VY SS wagon Red leather seats and door trims
    HSV 5 speed shift pattern badge - hardest damned thing to get a hold of...
    HSV 250kmh/r cluster - ODO reading is on new engine
    HSV Drivers kit
    BLACK SUEDE ROOFLINING. Ha, this is the thing I'm proudest of, did it with the How-to's on this site.
    Chrome door handles
    Piano black dash


    Stereo:
    ALPINE CDA-117e - iPod in glovebox
    JL Audio C2 600 front splits
    JL Audio CX-650 rear co-ax
    JL Audio G4500 4x125w amp
    Kenwood 1000w mono amp
    2x MTX Thunder 7500 12" subs - in MTX bandpass boxes
    1.5 farad cap

    OLD PLANS:
    A proper stereo - yep
    Some mild engine work - that too
    Maybe some interior re-trimming - In a massive way

    NEW PLANS:
    Repaint the scraped up bumpers
    camber kit - or VY cradle set up
    Fix the air con
    Re-polish engine cover
    More stomp...

    Shes a beauty mate, i had a capricorn green wagon before my current one, awesome colour Love the manta kit on it as well

    Like Getraggy said, put it on street wagons . And lower her a bit

    this looks mad was thinking about getting this kit for mine but wasnt sure how it would look, never realy seen a 5L v8 in a wagon love the 5L just have this nice note to them.

    yeah should put this on streetwagons like everyone ells said

    It's going to come out again and get a proper hi-po rebuild, or I'm gonna get a hold of a spare engine and do the same. This car is going to progress beyond a daily soon hopefully.

    Monaro lights were a random score on ebay, a genuine set seems to come along every two months. Snapped em up when I could.

    So this a bit of a feeler. This thing is now for sale, I just picked up another car and having two V8 commodores makes no sense. Interest?
