Hey, all this is my first car, thought it's about time i put some pics up :P
Name: Jake
Age: 16
Model: VT Commodore
Year: 1998
Colour: Maroon (don't know what it's called, fill me in?)
Purchase price: $3000, had a few bits and pieces wrong, paint was a bit dodgy had an oil leak all round things needed doing but were all small things so a family friend fixed everything for us charged nothing in labour so I only had to pay for parts and $500 for paint.
Engine Type: 3.8L Ecotec
Engine Mods: Pacemaker extractors
Suspension: Stock (plan to put in King SL's when i have my P's)
Wheels/Tyres: stock -_-
Interior:
SS seats ,door trims and carpets? were in when i bought it.
Sound System: Pioneer head unit, 6 speakers, 7x10's in the back (haven't actually had a look to see what they are yet XD)
Future mods:
Well obviously can't do too much being on my L's etc. so want to keep it fairly simple
All i plan on doing at this point is:
King SL's
Some rims, still deciding
Other than that just small things. i.e air filter
All to be done once I am on P plates.
As you can see I don't know a lot about cars (but i'm learning..slowly) so, please be nice :P
Looks nice for a first car champ! love the interior
Just curious, are the windows electric?? or are the switches just there for looks :P
Cheers!, they're not electric XD whoever had it before just put the switches in so i might replace that part.
Def looks nice for a first car man. Nice set of rims and some SL's should make it look quite tidy.
Cheers Macca and yeah rims are the first thing i'll be doing, take a little bit of time though, I don't earn too much as I am a student :P
Cheers guys, NVMYVT I was thinking that, but that would be a long way off yet. First thing is the rims..god they look terrible XD and then a few other small mods. Just noticed I haven't included the kms, has just over 150,000 on it.
100% correct, mate buy the regulators, and do just even one window a weekend for 4 weeks, will take about 1.5 hours per window fully working for someone with NO car experience, definitely worth doing mate.
very nice base, id suggest doing small things while u save up some cash for the bigger things, i.e debadging, painting dash maybe, spray insides of headlights black etc etc, just small things that take alittle time, focus on the bigger stuff later.
and yeah vt's are chap as now, i got my vt exec for 4k with 10months reg and RWC like 7 months ago, and it only had like 191000km! gotta love our econemy! haha
Alright cheers guys, will do. Also is there any point in opening up the air intake mouth, like so;
no probs mate, hopefully it'll be in the not to distant future, but even if ya don't have the cash they wont be going anywhere in a hurry,
as for the big mouth bass looking air intake, i honestly can't see that attempt making a great deal of improvement mate, if anything just keep an eye out on ebay for an otr (prefferably not plastic) thats going cheap
Ah k, cheers mate, yeh won't look into a CAI for a while then just go for the cosmetic stuff for a bit.
Clean car mate, gotta love the VT's, lovin the red ss interior too XD
haha yeah Cheers, yeah the interior was in when I bought it sosaved some money there, not to mention they're pretty comfy too XD

New post: Ok, so thought the wiring might have been dodgy so sent it to my dads mate to fix up as it turns out the head unit was f****d but have picked up a new one for $150 don't know what it is yet though because he bought it for me XD, also have a new switch for the electric mirrors as they were playing up. Resprayed the dash in the same colour, there was a few scratches and marks on it from the previous owner.

ahh bro do you have your L's inside the car? they need to be on the outside bro, ive seen so many people get a 200 dollar fine for having them on the inside of the car :S Just a heads up bro, I mean the police are really lazy and they will only pull you over if they are just bored and are mean... but it sure can ruin your day, get some magnetic ones for the rear and front of your carand what a beautiful car btw check my profile for mine i just bought it today i love it so much
Uhh not too sure, was thinking SL's all round but people seem to go SL's at the front and L's at the rear, need to check it out some more.
Haha cheers mate! ill check yours in a sec, and here in SA the stick on ones seem to be ok, haven't seen anybody at all with the magnetic ones and even the handbook had the pics with it on the inside.
ah kk yeah no worries mate, its, funny how many p platers i see with them hidden behind their rego plate aswell.. also illegal in nsw.. but yeah it just depends on the cop you run into hey. you get some nice guys and then you get the odd arsehole!hahahaha
Nice car for $3000. I bought my Holden Commodore Executive Series II 2000 model for $6200 about a month and a half ago. It has got Lukey 2 1/2 inch sports exhaust, 17" Rims, 12" inch sub, 600W amplifier, Pioneer Head Deck and a performance chip. It has about 132*** k's. I'm only on my P's so I can't really do much to my car as of yet. How much k's has your car travelled?
