    Default Neilsens VT

Hey guys been here awhile, thought id finally share my car. Its nothing special to look at but all my money has gone into engine mods, wanted to get it going good before i made it look good. Also im on my P's, live on the Gold Coast. Done all the work to the engine myself except for exhaust, gearbox and diff gears. Last 1/4 run was 15.7 but was running it on 91(its tuned for 95/98) and i was having tyre pressure issues.

Model: 1997 VT series 1 Executive
    Colour: Gold
    Engine Type: 3.8L Ecotec!
    Engine Mods:
Pacemaker headers, High flow cats, 2.5'' catback
    OTRCAI
    Bored and polished 69mm TB
NGK iridium plugs, 10.5mm EAGLE leads
Stage 2 shift kit with Corvette Servo
    MACE 1.98:1 ratio rockers
135lb LS1 valve springs, LS1 valve retainers, Crow Cam pushrods
    81degre termostat
    MACE 25mm runner space
    MACE 12mm plenum spacer
    K&N air filter
    Mail order memcal chip tune
    3.7:1 diff gears.

    Power: dont know

    Gearbox: 4L60E

Diff: stock with 3.7 borg warner gears

    Brakes: stock

    Suspension: Pedders adjustable coil overs

    Wheels/Tyres: stock 205/65/R15

Interior: in the middle of re trimming the roof to black

    Stereo: stock

    Future Mods:
    Black projecter headlights
Black alteeza LED tail lights with painted garnish(colour code with car)
    Darker tint
new painted bonnet and boot badges gloss black
    Black carpet Roof lining
    Black leather seats

lol so like i said its not much to look at, but im hopeing after i lower it and respray stock wheels gloss black with the black head and tail lights it might look alrite. either way a quicker 1/4mile is all i really care about!

let me know what you guys think

gogi - yeah mud flaps are already off since that photo, dunno about rims, i kinda like the whole stock rims and dumped on its guts, which will happen as of next pay day its going into pedders and getting those coilovers.

    chilly - Cheers mate

carra909 - yeah did the 1.98 MACE rockers, but couple wks after snapped a valve spring so decided to go stronger springs/retainers. the crow cam pushrods come with the rockers so i did them together

they were the last thing i put on, and to be honest i wasnt expecting much, although they did surprise me a little. its nothing out of this world by a long shot but they definatly help torque down low (up until 3000-3500rpm). you feel them at work best when your just cruising, not thrashing it, it just pulls that bit more without even trying. But the main difference i found with them is exhaust note, made it sound so much more gruntier and throaty (if there even words haha), almost worth it just for the sound haha

if anyone can think of any mods i havent done id love to hear them. forced induction/cam/stroker and ported heads are out. to much $ for power gain. but any bolt ons!

yeah the next month till pay days gonna go so long haha ill make sure to post some pics as soon as i get it home. im trying to keep it black and gold theme so i might those silver caps and paint em black, and get the wheel nut black covers. lol

yeah could put a hole in the airbox, but trying to keep it kinda legit if you know what i mean for resale. the 2hole mod seems a bit bogan haha id have to talk to someone with the 2hole mod and OTRCAI to convince me lol

glesson - if i was you get mods in this order, exhaust, OTRCAI, 1.98:1 rockers, diff gears, tune. then the rest dont really matter, but if i had done it over again they would be my first 5. best bang for buck

Just some updated pictures after its been lowered and painted the rocker covers. Got the adjustable coil overs from pedders, straight outa the box havent adjusted the height yet, although its sitting faily low already. might just drop the arse another inch, the front seems the be tucking a little more than the rear.
