Picked this up on Wednesday
Flew to Melbourne, got a taxi to the guys house, drove back to Adelaide.

Runs like a dream, 1 owner and 150,000km on the clock. Only a few nicks in the paint. Filthy in the pics as I drove it back and got covered in bugs then let it sit gathering dust at my bros.

Stock as a rock 97 Acclaim, no real plans for it yet. Not loving the colour but I think it might grow on me.

Maybe Ill put my 15x7 chasers with 225s on it, wont be tinting it at all as I've gone completely off driving at night in my Calais due to I cant see anything out the windows. Probably 2 1/2" cat back, lower it a bit and fix the rear camber issues.

Ill be putting my Kenwood head unit it, not sure what speakers to run in the 4 doors or if ill just leave it stock for now, Ill buy some 6x9s for the parcel shelf and run them off a amp and leave it at that. Doubt I'll put my sub in it, not too sure at this stage.

6x9's and 4 doors or 12" and 4 doors?

It has Monaro tail lights but Ill pull them out and throw in the S1 tail lights till I can buy a cheap set of S2 lights.

All 4 wheels have good tread but all different brands so Ill have to fix that up, the back lights in the dash don't work for some reason, should illuminate when the head lights are on but nothing happens, haven't looked at it yet.

Hmm wanted a VT for so long but really as happy as I thought I would be, I wanted silver or white and I know it makes no difference but for some reason it just doesnt feel right.

Duuude keeep the monaro lights on it! just get VX garnish they will look awesome then!
but If you dont like my idea you should night shade your garnish and S1 or S2 lights that would looks mint!!

Honestly, that's the colour I want. I've got a Raven Blue :/ It's way too dark for summer. Have fun messing about with it though.

Tooks some pics yesterday.

Sitting there gathering dust at my bros where I left it, needs a wash and maybe a buff.

Flat battery from sitting there for a month without starting it, for some reason it had a 4 cyl battery in it so I need to get a new one anyway.

I took some pics of it the other day that makes it nearly look black when its over cast.

I dont like the look of it with the sun on it but its nice in the shade or when cloudy.



Should have it on the road with in the next month I think, Ill need to sell my Calais before I can register it though.

@comonwhore, I got rid of the Monaro tail lights long ago. They are sitting in my brothers shed as I decided I want to keep the S1 lights because everyone else is changing to S2 and Monaro tail lights.

Finally it will be getting registered today

Wow you flew to melbourne and drove it back, must have been a good deal haha.. I agree with taking the monaro lights off .. VT's look dumb with monaro lights as the boot lid makes them look odd.

1:9:1 rockers on, also made up a different air intake.

Slowly getting there. Still waiting on a exhaust that I ordered over a week ago.

Well Ive done a lot of things since i got it.

Most of this is just cut and paste from where Im keeping track of everything, done a fair few that isnt listed yet either.

Took out the 4 cylinder battery that was in it when I bought it and replaced it with a 470 CCA from Sprint Auto, $120
Installed Calais tail lights in the boot garnish, got them from ebay for around $20 including postage.

Got new tyres.


Put interceptor rims on, 4 new fat tyres on them too. Has a more aggressive look to it somehow, back is higher and wider.


Got 2 wheel studs to replace 2 broken ones.

Rear tail lights in, basically had to rewire the whole drivers side. Passenger side was fine.


Bought "M.A.C.E 1:9:1 High Ratio Roller Rockers"

Won a auction on ebay for a heat shield, about $40


I got the VZ hubcaps, out of all the Holden 15" hubcaps they are the only ones that look any good. Not too keen on hubcaps but I don't want the police pulling me over thinking I have stockies on for burnouts.


Passed roadworthy.

Stereo went in, looks good and didn't take long. Very happy with the sound for just door speakers, I'm not sure if it has factory or after market speakers but Ill check it out sooner or later. My sub may or may not be going in depending on if I can be bothered buying another amp.


Registered the VT, the plates are white on black background.


Fitted smooth intake.


Fitted 2.5" Lukey cat back myself.


Got tip welded on at the exhaust shop


Lukey air filter $40


Fitted an Aunger OTR CAI

Fitted 25mm manifold spacer

Fitted MACE memcal

Done a few other things here and there, its coming along pretty good.
