Hey there everyone.
I'm new to the site and have been checking out afew peoples rides so I thought I'd post up mine.

I've only had it for about 2 weeks so far (got it on the 30th of December 2010) but I'm already LOVING it!

I don't know TOO much about the car as the dealer i bought it off only knew the basic info about the vehicle.

It's a 5 speed 2002 VU Series Two Utility.

But so far the list of things that I've done and the previous owner before me is:

-Dark tinting (maybe 15-20%?)
-Lowered on king springs (not sure what type. lows? super lows? if anyone can see from my pics what they could be can you please inform me? )
-SS Body Kit
-SS Foglights (had to wire these up myself as the previous owner only had them there for show)
-SS factory 18's
-Plastic Tray Liner
-Black Altezza Tail Lights
-2.5inch RedBack,Catback Exhaust System with Twin tip
-Gear Shifter Knob (Same pattern on it as my Phone case haha )
-Jenson 7inch DVD Single-Din Headunit
-Green Footwell LED's
-New Thermostat
-New Radiator
-Clear side indicators
-De-Badged Tailgate and under side indicators
-Painted engine cover
-Ordered Personalised Plates already, should be here in afew weeks

Thats about it so far.

There are afew things I need to do still such as:

-Eventually change the speakers in the doors with some Kenwood 6.5inch's I bought
-Change front n rear Bushes
-Change the Oil Pressure Switch
-Change the rubber Grommets/Mounts I think they are called, under the Engine.
-Bleed all the brakes
-New Passenger side window + tint (the current one has afew scratches)
-New Arial
-Get a Hardtop
-Electric Windows :P

Most of these will be done with my Family friend who is a Really good mechanic who works for Lube Mobile

hey there.

im not actually looking to buy any rims for it. i dont mind the stock rim look. its sitting on ss 18's n the tyres r already tucking abit

and i AM actually looking into buying a hardtop for it. had one in mind but the seller on ebay sold it to someone else before i could get it devistated too, was only 400$!!!

im looking to do some work to the current sound system this saturday/sunday. bought some gear for it this arvo, so ill be playing round all weekend now haha

a small update

so i wired up my old 4ch amp from my old lancer. i attached some pioneer 6x9's and some kenwood 6.5's onto it. sounds alot louder n clearer it didnt take too long to do, hada mate come round n help me out.

screwed the amp into the wall behind my seat and made two custom box's for the 6x9's to sit in behind each seat on the floor. while i was at it i decided to spray my engine cover black, got over the green colour haha







might give the car a wash this arvo when the sun goes down abit n the heat goes away

You simply spray painted the engine cover?
Did you use superfine sandpaper on it first or anything?
Im interested, my VX is that dark green colour and i dont want the usual boring grey, maybe black or dark green, but im not 100% sure how to do it. Properly and safely, anyway.

primer, sand, paint. if you want clear coat? haha pretty easy.

if you want A grade get someone to do it for you. if you dont mind it not being 100% perfect then hava go yourself. very simple.

so i fitted 4 tweeters to my rear shelf of the ute. iv got them running off the 4 channels comming out of my headdeck. they are ok, not the best. might buy some 4inch's and rerplace them/join them. ill have to make some more custom housing for them

if your after something loud. thenn this isnt it. its got a low toned grumble. when i hit 4500-5000+ revs it sounds loud n means as though. otherwise its not too loud n quite pleasant hope that helps

Perfect wasnt after something that creates a lot of attention, but has a nice clean tone to it. but, is saying that, has the ability to be loud when i floor it

ok so saturday i want to go to the RTA and ask where the EFF my number plates are. ordered them a month ago now and STILL no letter from them!!!

also, ill be making custom housing for some 4's i bought and for the tweeters to go with. fun

nice looking ute mate. many k's? common vy ss rims but i rekon they look great, cheap but still look neat. looks pretty clean!

its done 191,000 kms now. bought it on 189,000. 2000k's ina month

good news! my new plates arrived at the RTA. picking them up tomorrow, and i picked up 2 pairs of Fusion 4 inch speakers. let the fun commence :P

ok so saturday! i got to work on the speakers early, to try beat the heat

i made the little housing for the 4's and the tweet's. a pair of each behind each headrest they sound pretty good! not loud, but enough to help with "surround sound". so heres how they turned out...







also, got my personalized plates finaly heres how they look...

thanks it was an idea that popped into my head oneday at work when i was bored, and i stuck with it very pleased with the sound inside the car now alot better then just running 6's in the doors....... haha!

oh yes. bought a pressy for myself off ebay pics in a few days when it arrives

its a good idea to keep your old hoses with you just incase anything goes wrong, you have a spare one to change over for the ride home, i have my old one in my car as a spare.
