I got my first car a couple of months ago and i couldn't be happier

Model - VX Exectuive
Year - 2001
Colour - Heron White
Engine - 3.8L ecotec
Suspension - 'Heavy Duty' stock hieght (Due to stiffer rates raises it nearly an inch)
Wheels - VX SS 17's
KM - just clocked over 190000

Current Mods
Reoved bullbar that came with it
VX SS 17's off eBay (gotta love eBay)
LED interior lights

Future Mods
Lower it about an inch or so (live down a dirt road so anything else is no good for me)
VZ SS side flutes (another eBay special for guards)
Tinted Windows
HID lights
Custom interior paint
Sound system

Possible Mods (Not sure yet)
VX SS bodykit
VX SS lights
Monaro Tail lights
VX SS Fog lights

Mate there are 2 ways you can take with this car
1:turn it into a street car i.e ss kit, lower
or
2: turn it into a offroading beast (haven't seen it before) maybe small stockies half off roading tyres, even raise it a bit. would be a one of a kinda commy

I just had my 18th birthday the other day and recieved a handy amount of cash as a present and it got me thinking of what to do next and i think a sou d system will be next.

Anyone running one of these headunits and anyone willing to give some advice on if there is a better headunit for a simular price as this one.

My plan is to run this headunit 6 inch speakers in the front 4inch speakers in the rear doors a set of 6x9's in the rear parcel shelf and amp and sub in the boot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Tand,

Congrats on your 18th.

Here are some rather inexpensive things to do to get you started (all according to my opinion of course):
- VX SS spoiler (looks agro as imo, luv it).
- DIY SS headlights (use google and you'll find a guide).
- Drop the trolley strips (the black strips on the doors).
- Get some super low springs in the rear.
- Chrome window trims from a calais or berlina.
- If you haven't already; get rid of the tow bar.
- Chrome door handles (or paint them).
- Rims? (if you don't get a spoiler then 19's or 20's are the best look)
- Cat back 'zorst (pretty standard aye?)

I am planning on getting rid of the trolley strips ASAP but i jusy need to get of my but and buy some caramel wheels to get rid of the sikaflex. Also the towbar is staying i ride dirt bikes and need to cart it so a trailer is my only option so as much as i don't like it it will stay

When your not towing pull the ball out and slap a chrome cover or something over the gaping hole of the tow bar

Been a while since i have been on and have found some more pics. There have been no more mods to date as cash flow is low but i am about to purchase this headunit and install it.

Haven't been on for a while so thought i would just give a quick update.

I have got my new double din touch screen headunit installed but am dissapointed. Went to install it myself and realised that i jumped in over my head so got autobarn to install if for me. When i got it back (2hrs later than when they said) my dash was severly knocked around, clips broken, wasn't put in square and after I asked them to keep the stock holden harness so i can pull it out when i sell it and put the stock headunit in they just cut the stock harness and did what they want..... NOT HAPPY

Also bought myself a little present on eBay the other day. A complete statesman intertior with seats, door trims, door handle etc very cheaply that is currently about to go to the upholsterer to have the holes for the seat belts fill. Will post pics when i take them

I did that with my interior mate. had a mate who does leather upholstering fix it up

What a great night that i have had. After going to work the soccer training i started making my way home when a 6ft tall Mr Skippy decided that he liked the front of my car and wanted to meet it a high speed.

On a lighter note at least damage was minimal, bent bonnet, drivers side front quarter pannel looks like a fat bloke sat on it and left a big ass impring and drivers side mirror needs replacing. Will upload pics tommorow
