    Default VT executive ecotec

Thought I'd post a thread up on my second vt, I did have a s1 ss but experienced too many problems and don't enjoy the way v8's drive all that much so got this from the hail damaged auctions over here, Was unlicensed but passed roadworthy inspection straight away. The ss is now off the road and awaiting a buyer or an ls1 swap.

    Model: 1997 vt s1 Executive

    Colour: Tungsten

    Engine: Stock ecotec

    Diff: Stock 3:08

    Brakes: Stock

    Gearbox: Auto 4spd

    Suspension: King superlows, nolathane bushes.

Exterior: Monaro style headlights, Clear side indicators. Debadged.

    Wheels/Tyres: 17" csa 6 spokes. 245/45/17 rear, 235/45/17 front.

Interior/stereo: Standard executive interior, Pioneer headunit, 6" splits in front doors,

Future Mods: Coilovers, slammed, low offset wheels, vx calais front end, lip spoiler on boot and small roof lip, sunroof and respray. 4.2 stroked ecotec/manual conversion.

    Pics,

Stock and filthy. not long after it got regoed.

Basically how it sits now, still filthy. :P

Will update with better photos when i can get access to a decent camera.

You may have overlooked the question mark in DM's post, therefore making it a question not a criticism. Your sarcasm is void..

There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.

some might like NOS and some might not, moot point.

it was a question, as in can you explain to me what things about driving a V8 dont you like?

    hence the personal choice.
He has already stated that he does not like the drive and has had problems with the v8.
    Read the thread.
i dont see why he should explain him self to you?
    its his personal choice.
    Answer the question.

He said the SS is possibly awaiting an LS1 swap so maybe he just didn't like the 5ltr?

haha, it's all good guys. The thing is i don't really know how to explain it. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against V8's they're just not for me. Whenever i gave the ss a boot full it always felt like it was revving way above it's capabilities. (It wasn't, and in reality it revved just as high as the v6 but the v6 is happier to be doing it.) The power/torque delivery from the v8 also didn't suit my driving style. i like to have a long smooth climbing power curve, where as the ss would kick you in the guts and then run away violently.

I dunno, Bottom line is I am happy with my 6 banger now and these days with places like mace actually bringing out parts for them decent power isn't that hard to get either, I love the simplicity of the v6's they are easy to work on and fit in anything. I also have a buick v6 in a toyota surf and a mitsubishi triton, both 4wd.
