Picked this up today its a bit rough but a nice daily driver to haul my family around, has a few small battle scars just about everywhere but hard to notice til you get close doesn't bother me too much anyway. Has OTR with mafless, line pressure upped, extractors and some kind of sports exhaust will give more details tomorrow when I get it on the hoist as well as some better pics, has International interior fitted but its a regular wh. Going in for a RWC tomorrow I know for sure its too low, too loud and the wheels are too big, also abs light comes on. Happy to join the stato club hehe.
taken today 30th dec 2011 with canon sx130is

hehe yep gonna have to take em off for rwc I think, i will keep em aside for cruising and put lesser rims on for rwc and daily duties. Predicting for rwc: too low, too loud, no airbox no maf, abs module, air ride is disconnected I don't know if thats a roadworthy thing.
that actually looks awesome, i'd love to see a side shot from a bit further away
Yo.
pinched the photo off ebay
snapped this as i dropped it off for rwc inspection

RWC update:
both engine mounts.
car must retain 2/3 of original suspension travel (too low).
both rear rims damaged Buckled not cracked, good newspicked up a set of cheap vt ss wheels and tyres for daily.
Tailshaft centre bearing.
ABS light stays on.
T/C light stays on.
Slack in gear selector (needs a tighten hopefully). (edit 4 months on: the shifter could not be adjusted and the gearbox eventually exploded, built by raceshift the sticker said)
Starting work on it monday gonna need some $$$$ thrown at it lol, lucky I picked it up cheapish

Very nice man, I always liked the WH stato's. I'm loving the supersports, they set the colour off nicely.
None of us are as cruel as All of us. - Anonymous
PHEW i got a bit worried there for a sec it looked like cherry black in the darker pics :P
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Thanks kieran I'm only a couple of suburbs away from you in eppingmight see me (hear me) around 1 day.
It will never be the quality of your car Walesy but you have inspired me hehe your car is unbelievable man.
thanks man, looks tops on the supersports
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
its not very mint up close lots of scrapes (hopefully some will polish out) but no dents so thats something hehe,
picked up a set of cheap vt ss wheels and roady tyres off egay to chuck on for rwc (gotta get em balanced and refit a couple as they are leaking where the tyre meets the rim) they are pretty rough looking but will do for daily use, gonna get the 20's repaired in the meantime and store em away for occasional use as replacing 20" tyres on a daily will kill me haha.
The workshop didn't pick on my mafless and otr or the loud exhaust so very happy with that.
Thanks for the comments guys
hey nah no venetians you spy the reflection of the roller door hehe (cam phone does funny things). If I didn't have such dark tint i would probably grab some they are very classy.
update : new 2nd hand standard height springs are in, sourced a reco abs module for a decent price and 18's are on the car with fresh rubber (the 17's and tyres I picked up are marginal so I threw them on the vn and the vn's 18" wheels on the stato).
Tomorrow the engine mounts get done and tailshaft center bearing get fitted with new front and rear seals on the tailshaft, also abs module will be fitted.
Had a look while it was on the hoist lots of nolathane front end bushes, twin 2&1/2 catback with no resi from standard cats from 4-1's (brand unknown)
The 20's have slightly skinny rubber on them to suit vt's I guess and the car was so low that the inside rear lips were scraping on the road under heavy load with the camber (1 is slightly bucked other is heavily scuffed) repairable though so looking into that shortly after rwc.
If anyone is after a swap for the springs I have taken out I am keen for some SL or equivalent, I don't know what the ones removed from my car are they are kings and very low (see post #5 for ride height)

Sweet looking ride man, Congrats
I almost had a WH Stato but ended up with my current WL caprice.
You should certainly join the Stato forum
By the looks of the ride height in post 5 they are ultra lows.
If they are the king springs for the WH statesman from the top of my head they should be KHFL- 47SL & KHRL-46HD.
Check out My WL CAPRICE

Thanks Caprilicious wicked WL you got there.
update: engine mounts are done, abs module is in. Today the tailshaft will be refitted and shifter adjusted and in for rwc retest and pass!!, well thats the plan anyway hope its registered before the weekend![]()
good work there mate![]()
Thanks jester I love your R8 man, the thing with the selector was that when it was in D it said 3rd on the selector and sometimes had to jiggle it in park to start her. sorted now and looking good to make vicroads appointment for tomorrow, tailshaft rear metal flange was cracked and front one was almost the same, centre bearing was shredded as well, all replaced with heavy duty items tailshaft cost was $570. Was told this is a common fault on ls1s.
edit: BAH bad news, reco abs module didn't clear the abs and tc lights on the dash, trying a new unit in the morning (hopefully its just a dodgy reco unit and thats all).
