How would I go about removing the door strips but still keeping it looking neat?
And I don't wanna sound stupid or anything but what's colour code the mirrors mean? Haha

Yeaa I love the rims, apparently they're V8 Supercar rims

I think there is a guide in the How-To section for removing door strips. Color Code basically means paint them the same color as the car, i.e white

Ok thanks Mayes, I'll have a look and let you know how I go, bit scared about doing it myself as I don't wanna ruin it haha.
Yeaa I'll have a think about the mirrors, but again don't wanna stuff it up.

And I'll definitely be getting the rest of the SS kit, it's just a matter of money unfortunately, I got the car for $3500 (out of a $5000 loan) and used the left over money on a stereo, transfer of ownership fee and rego. So for now I'll just be concentrating on things that are cheap and will make the car look better haha.

Lookin good. Any chance of a couple more pics?
If you want to tidy it up but you're strapped for cash, upgrade the tail lights to series 2 if you don't have them already. Also change the side indicators to the clear ones instead of the orange. It just makes it look a lot neater imo. It's an easy job, and you can pick up the lights pretty cheap off ebay.

Ok, I went to take the door strips off and found a dint/scratches under the back passenger side strip (pics), I think the guy I bought it off had attempted to take the door strip off cause there was already one missing when I bought the car.
So because of this damage, it's a no to taking the door strips off for now unfortunately.

Anyway, I thought I'd upload a couple more pictures so I could get a few (cheap) ideas on what I can do to the car....

Ok, so I tried painting the dash silver and blue... Aaaand as it turns out, I'm definitely not a spray painter haha.
Think I'm going to have to go to the wreckers and get a new dash

    - FORGIVEME: yeaa, I do want to do that, but I want to just get a whole new boot (VX Style) and the new taillights all at once, just gotta wait for the money

    - Parabola: I was actually thinking that, might put a light blue colour on the silver part of the door strips... Not sure yet, but will definitely have to do something.

    - booders9: Ahh yeaa, I've been driving a fair bit, so I'll probably get seen a little bit haha.. I've clocked over 1000kms in the last week and a half

This is the worst part!! I snapped the plastic bit of the "P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1" and need to get a new one of the gearstick surrounding.. Don't know what it's actually called.

Buy plastic primer and then do a light first coat and then the next 2 coats abit heavier and you won't have an issue. Nice first attempt though! Especially on the top half

yeah your putting your paint on very heavy there mate, just re-sand your dash, buy some plastic primer. prime it then paint it.

keep the spray can about 15-20cms away from the dash itself and just do very light coats, and be patient.

Yeaa I did, but then realised I've got no money until at least next week, too much shit to pay.
It's not just the dash fascia I need either, I need the plastic covering that goes over the gear shift as well cause I snapped a bit of the plastic when trying to take it off.

I like to see people have a go at doing things you have just gone a bit heavy on it. Best way is to just sand it back as best as you can then prime it and start to apply paint again like Parabola said light coats build it up slowly what sort of prep work did you do ?
