G'day guys, first post here but have been browsing for a while...
Anyway this is my VT Executive and just wanted to know what you all think...
Bare in mind this is my first car and have only had it not even a week.

looks good, remove those door strips and color code the side mirrors.
yup and deffs needs the rest of the ss kit, but looks like a great car

How would I go about removing the door strips but still keeping it looking neat?
And I don't wanna sound stupid or anything but what's colour code the mirrors mean? Haha
Yeaa I love the rims, apparently they're V8 Supercar rims![]()
I think there is a guide in the How-To section for removing door strips. Color Code basically means paint them the same color as the car, i.e white
WHITE WHEELS FTW nice first car man but deff needs the rest of the ss kit
wheel gap is like a vagina the more fingers you can get in the worse it is
Built not Brought
and
Driven not Garaged
Ok thanks Mayes, I'll have a look and let you know how I go, bit scared about doing it myself as I don't wanna ruin it haha.
Yeaa I'll have a think about the mirrors, but again don't wanna stuff it up.
And I'll definitely be getting the rest of the SS kit, it's just a matter of money unfortunately, I got the car for $3500 (out of a $5000 loan) and used the left over money on a stereo, transfer of ownership fee and rego. So for now I'll just be concentrating on things that are cheap and will make the car look better haha.
Lookin good. Any chance of a couple more pics?
If you want to tidy it up but you're strapped for cash, upgrade the tail lights to series 2 if you don't have them already. Also change the side indicators to the clear ones instead of the orange. It just makes it look a lot neater imo. It's an easy job, and you can pick up the lights pretty cheap off ebay.
Ok, I went to take the door strips off and found a dint/scratches under the back passenger side strip (pics), I think the guy I bought it off had attempted to take the door strip off cause there was already one missing when I bought the car.
So because of this damage, it's a no to taking the door strips off for now unfortunately.
Anyway, I thought I'd upload a couple more pictures so I could get a few (cheap) ideas on what I can do to the car....

you could always colour code the strips mate if you dont want to take them off, very easy to do

Nice car! saw you driving today near frankston. down Mc Mahons road
Ok, so I tried painting the dash silver and blue... Aaaand as it turns out, I'm definitely not a spray painterhaha.
Think I'm going to have to go to the wreckers and get a new dash
- FORGIVEME: yeaa, I do want to do that, but I want to just get a whole new boot (VX Style) and the new taillights all at once, just gotta wait for the money
- Parabola: I was actually thinking that, might put a light blue colour on the silver part of the door strips... Not sure yet, but will definitely have to do something.
- booders9: Ahh yeaa, I've been driving a fair bit, so I'll probably get seen a little bit haha.. I've clocked over 1000kms in the last week and a half![]()
Buy plastic primer and then do a light first coat and then the next 2 coats abit heavier and you won't have an issue. Nice first attempt though! Especially on the top half
yeah your putting your paint on very heavy there mate, just re-sand your dash, buy some plastic primer. prime it then paint it.
keep the spray can about 15-20cms away from the dash itself and just do very light coats, and be patient.

Yeaa, I did use the plastic primer haha
Unfortunately that's just my spray painting skills coming into play haha
Yeaa I did, but then realised I've got no money until at least next week, too much shit to pay.
It's not just the dash fascia I need either, I need the plastic covering that goes over the gear shift as well cause I snapped a bit of the plastic when trying to take it off.
