no alarm upgrade this week.

i paid my brother some cash and i will be getting new tyres.

still trying to work out if i should pay an extra 40$ and get the back michelins or bridgestone, or good year.

... in 2 or so weeks. i plan to give the beast....

1) Top Gun Ignition Leads
2) Fuel Filter change
3) New oil and filter
4) Throttle body cleaning

---- anything else i could do which is sort of like a "Service" at a mechanics? ive got this feeling like the fuel filter and ignition leads have been on the car since new!!!
sometimes my car feels sluggish..... not sure??? help!

cheers my friend. $119 bucks each, same price as i paid for the front, ages ago.

when i got the car, the timing belt was like, literally burnt in half, and the old service sticker said it was last serviced well over 2 years previous.
i think i will stick with the marshmellow man, only because i have him on the front as well, you get what you pay for!

i'm pretty sure the top gun leads last for 100,000kms, and the ones on now have probbably seen the full brunt of my car's life.... 144000k!
so many people scunge on their car, i bet that was the same with the previous owner. i think new leads will work nicely, if i have the urge, i'll put them on this week

I checked the resistance of the leads and it wasn't too bad.

From memory the front Michelin tyres were 205/65's so I suppose was quoted for the same size. If you could get 215 tyres for the back instead of 205's that would be not bad. It wouldn't put the speedo out and the profile should be the same, being 65.
I have heard over the years Michelin are a good a-round tyre in the dry and wet.

NGK plugs, Topgun leads, genuine fuel and oil filter should be a decent major service. Done the coolant system flush and the front brakes. Just need to machine the rotors and do a few bits and all should be sweet hopefully for a while

Agreed the 215s would b much better not just in looks but will put more rubber on the road 4 ur safety i wouldnt bother with bridgstone tho the mashmellow man would rate over them

leads, mine were checked 4 resistance with my last service were A ok 4000kms later gone. they r supposed 2 b replaced in the 160000kms normal service mine hadnt been dun so they were over due 4 a change neways but if u do them every 100000kms u wont have ne probs

Indeed. As I said darling the genuine oil would be zero benefit. I don't see anything special about it!

Yes. I guess when I saw the state of Christina's air filter, I figured her car has never really had a decent service in its life so I think it's time to do some stuff. Glad to be the man to do the job right purely for the reason I think her ex mechanic sucks and ripped her off every time (EVIL grin).

On the to-do list which I am happy to help Christina out is:

Topgun leads
Genuine oil filter and Christina's special oil
Genuine fuel filter
NGK spark plugs
Front stabiliser/sway bar bushes and performance link rod kit (All Nolathane)
Rear GM shock absorbers
Front disc rotor machine job
Possibly rear brake pad replacement
Transmission service from the specialists - All states trans service
Rear tyres
Replace burnt out parker globe
Find out where this annoying coke can noise is coming from and if possible, take off the exhaust part where the catalytic converter is and see if the noise is coming from inside it.

I think that's about it

After all that crap I hope to save Christina about $600 in labour costs.

Mechanics can be so damn cruel when they see a female coming. I don't like this at all

Just came back from Kmart Tyre and Auto, I got the GoodYear GA Plus..... 205/65/R15'S.... which came to.... $194 bucks. Drove home, but boy, does the car feel alot better.

When I go out soon, i'll throughly examine the difference!

So I have Michelins on the front which have done... approx... 7000kms. And brand new GoodYear on the back. I hope they will last me until June next year. YAY. So, I would say, Marshmellows consumed at 137, and I had a Good Year at 144.
