Ants wanna b V8 supercar VT 6

Well thought id finally get around 2 doin a my ride section 4 a couple of ppl well here is my work in progress atm. well brought "Leo" (long story lol) bout nearly 2 years ago 4 $9000 back then had 140000kms on the clock i thought it was a bargin 2 buy so i sold the old 88 magna and upgraded 2 this b4 she died lol.

1st pic is how i bought it except 4 the pioneer sticker on the back window that was the 1st thing i added wen i 1st installed my old system out of the magna into her (i miss the doof doof from the magna hahaha)

sound system was the 1st real upgrade i did went all pioneer hence the poineer sticker lol hes got:

All work was dun by my self as im a cabinetmaker i found it easy and simple 2 do, i could of set it out so it looked competition style but i still wanted 2 b able 2 use my boot 4 storage at the same time as well as if i eva needed my spare i could, i also put a piano hinge on the floor mat so it lifts up infront of the box and amps.

Next i change my tail lights 2 the monaro black altezzas the rear garnish will b takin off as its a work in progress im goin 2 paint it blue same as the car. I then wanted 2 get rid of the 15" 3 spoke mags and changed them 2 some 17" Black CSA CHASE mags then went and found some genuine front Monaro headlights also with the black back round 2 go with the blue n black theme.

Then i saw some1 who had changed their interior lights inside the car 2 blue and i wanted it badly 2 get rid of the old dull green thats in the commos so i set my self in doin that job took bout a month 2 complete from start 2 finish with some added colours 2 make it look more real and not cheap and dodgy like most ppl have dun wen doin this conversion and it stands out alot more if i do say so myself and coz of this i have now started doin these conversions 4 other ppl 4 the VTs VXs VUs VYs and VZs (with pheddy on JC) ne questions bout thats dont hesistate 2 ask.

Next thing i wanted was a body kit a few months after i found my car i actually scored a V8 supercar body kit 4 $100 and it was somthing different from the common clubbys and ss's so i thought id set my aim 2 go with this. Ran into a problem with that bar months down the tack wen it came time 2 fitting the bar just didnt fit nicely enough 4 my liking so i ordered a new bar from SSV $600 later then i got the rest of the kit 2 match the front bar bout 2 weeks ago its the SSV style skirts, rear skirt and rear wing 2 make it look like a V8 supercar and only now ina few weeks its goin 2 get put on. im still in a delema as 2 wat the 2nd colour i wanna use say 4 inside the dam and a bit on the side skirts like most ppl do with the silver i was thinkin mayb yellow would look ok rather than doin silver as its pretty commmon??? ne feed back on that would b great so let me know wat use guys think?

Neways after this long bloody novel ive had enough of typing lol so nething else i think of i'll add it in soon hope it hasnt bored ya 2 death with so much reading hahahaha but this section should have been dun ages ago n now the work has just built up alot since then lol

Yeah looks good, but dont go yellow man... Theres a reason its not common on dark cars

thanx guys n girl lol need more feed back on colour preference tho if u think yellow wont b ne good tho my cars actually metallic blue the kit u can see is black including the front bar its all still in fibre glass and is gettin painted in 2 weeks. Only black stuff i got on the car r the wheels and front n rear lights. mayb thats wat ur refering 2 vn2nv???

last resort i will paint it a type of silver but wanted somthing diff as silvers pretty common ne others that will go with blue?

This is def' a project worth keeping an eye on! Incedently, aside from the V8 front end, fav' part is the backlighting, the blue just looks so very nice.

OK few months ago i got new rotors put on not long after i got my mags my old rotors looked ****ty they had surface rust all over (along with my calipers as u can see) n stood out pretty bad so i decided b4 i put my new rotors on i painted them red 4 somthing different aswell as my calipers heres a pic of my rotors and my calipers i just finished on the weekend.

Was goin 2 paint the goldish lookin colour bits on the calipers satan black but thought these actually look good as they r so gonna leave them n put them on like they r...............look ne good?

i was thinkin clear indicators but not sure how it would look as theres no other clear lights on there and with the black theme the orange sorta separates it dunno will have another think tho.

i got some1 2 do some photo chopping and heres the best i got so far 2 have the bits painted yellow (would b a lil more yellowish tho not a bright yellow) does it really look that bad against the blue??

will try get the front bar dun 2 with the yellow see wat it looks like.

would if i could dude, i dont even have photoshop maybe a dark turquoise colour, anything but yellow. thanx 4 the chart mate well ive decided 2 do the safe way with the 2nd colour and go a type of grey or silver went and had a look at some paint samples and put them up 2 my car yellow looks shit so im glad i found that out lol light blue or the turquise just didnt stand out at all so atm ive got my mind set on a mercury silver M7 or somthing similar 2 that

thanx man yer i had 2 change the lights 2 blue wen i saw it ay my HU has blue lights and LCD screen so it matches in well the green didnt really so im glad i did it

same with changin the old boss gear that was in the magna hahaha tell u wat tho i know they have a bad rep but that set up really pumped 4 such a shit rep ay tho was all the magna needed then lol

ok just an update had a lil hicup with the front bar found out the bar has actually been fitted or tried 2 fit 2 a VT b4 even tho wen i purchased it they seller told me it hadnt so i guess its always best 2 buy straight from a factory lol so lesson learnt there but bar was only $100 so it explains y it was so cheap....

Wat happend was the bar at the sides where the front fender joins 2 it they cut the bar 2 short so there was a huge 4-5 mm gap :S and tried adding 2 the mistakes with some bog and painted over it 2 look like they hadnt stuffed up so we sanded that right back and added this plastic powder stuff 2 it then used a special super glue 2 melt the powder stuff 2 fix up their mistakes so we got that all right and sittin nice but wen we went 2 screw it all down the front bar at the top was hittin the bonnet wen closed and there wasnt enough flex 2 bend it so ive decided im gonna get the supercar bar from SSV as i got the rest of the kit from them so it will fit better with some hope lol gonna b another $600 but id rather pay that then have a dodgy bar i think

we fitted the skirts and rears skirts all went well just gettin some paint on monday and then prep n paint them n fit them all on cars gonna look funny with out the front bar but that will have 2 wait haha

Ok found my new bar ive just orded that $800 inc frieght 2 WA will b on its way over ina few weeks time as it needs 2 b made from SSV during next week only difference is that it has the Manta style front grill moulded in instead of using the orignal grills i made up just like in the 2nd pic which i stole from the VT/VX forum just 2 give u an idea of wat it was goin 2 look like

Im still goin 2 add the silver into the parts i said b4 as i think it looks a lil 2 plain 1 colour n needs 2 b broken up a lil ne opinions on the new bar??

thanx man yer plan is 2 drop in a gen 3 wen i get another 100000kms on him no point gettin rid of it after all the work gettin dun 2 it wouldnt b worth selling so seem the better way 2 just keep it not gonna do the gen 3 up tho just want a V8 growwwlll lol

hey mate u got the headers yet? just priced up a set of h&m stainless steel headers from work and can get them for $430 including freight....so its not to far off wat u got anyway....

Why have you got aftermarket lights in a VT and still got the standard garnish??? It looks terrible! Get a VX garnish! Apart from that and the ride height its nice.

As for your colour problems, I would look to the v8's for inspiration! Think about it, your car will have that style kit on it, may as well look at finished versions
