Default Bezz's VT

Car: 98 VT Exec
Engine: ecotec
Trans: auto
Engine mods: none as yet
Stereo mods: a few, read lower
Exterior mods: vy ss 18" wheels, vx berlina lights and boot garnish, vt s2 calais grille, clear side indicators
Interior mods: half finished led dash conversion :P, power windows (not really a mod but an option at least)
Future mods: a wash! Also redo stereo, finish dash, lowered springs, exhaust, redo tinting, calais window surrounds, colour code bumpers or ss kit, new interior

Car is really just something that will be reliable and comfortable for the daily commute to uni. Being a V6 I know its never gonna have any substantial power so I'm not bothering with engine mods at all. However, I really enjoy working with electronics so I've installed (currently redoing) a nice stereo and also halfway through an LED dash conversion.

Update 10/05/08---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Redoing my stereo install in a few weeks, just sussing out a new sub atm
Head Unit: Eclipse CD5000
Front Speakers: Boston Pro60 splits (yet to be installed)
Speaker Amp: Eclipse 36401 4x50w rms (all 4 channels for front speakers)
Subs: Currently Eclipse sw6123.4, looking at Boston G5 12" dual 4ohm
Sub Amp: Eclipse xa1000 mono
Deadening: Dynamat

I'm going to build a nice boot install for my gear... nothing over the top, more neat and funtional really.

wrx will be happy to know I'm also in the process of finishing my led dash conversion, going to do the rest of the interior soon also.

Getting a set of chrome window surrounds from a calais, have enough for 3 doors so far! Also in the next 2 months the car is getting lowered and a sports exhaust put on. I've also got a tin of paint sitting here.. still undecided as to whether I should just colour code my bumpers replace them with SS extensions. Also getting the tinting redone when fundage allows.

Updated 20/01/08------------------------------------------------------------------

Had the VT on the road for about 7 months now. Its my daily driver to get me to and from work/uni. I just want it to be neat and tidy without going over the top, and without spending too much on it, as its only a daily till i can score a decent job after uni.

I bought the car at auction and since then I've had it fully roadworthied, and over the course of the last 6 months have replaced basically every major mechanical component. The car has new brakes and radiator, engine and trans out of a vx (130,000km on the clock), among a whole lot of other things. The car had a rough life previously, but nowadays runs like its brand new. The only downside is I've spent way too much money getting it up to scratch....

I've only recently started doing some mods on it (apart from the stereo that went in as soon as I got it). I've got my VY SS wheels off of my old VN on it, a bit over those mags now as they're everywhere. I got when they had only just came out so they were a real head turner back in the day! I've also put on some VX taillights and a berlina boot garnish to give the car a less dated look. On the front I've got some S2 calais grilles.

Here's some pictures, the attachments at the bottom are from the first day i got it, and also included are ones from a few days ago. The grey plastic skirts really need replacing on the new pictures, not as noticable as shown in these photos but still i reckon it lets down the look of it.

Cheers for the feedback

i reckon this one was optioned up a bit, hence the power windows, although interestingly it only has the stock tape deck.

Your car looks very nice!
Not sure whether i'll get a kit on it yet, the S kits are nice but heaps of VTs out there have em.. i been eyeing off a monaro front bar for it, might put one of them on eventually.

RF aint bad but then what am I gonna do with all my high end eclipse gear?!

Exhaust and etc will come later down the track once the car is out on the road again.

Picked this one up from auction as a stolen recovered, no damage to it though. Just gotta change tyres, clean it up and fix any leaks etc and should pass the roadworthy no problems!

not too bad in the interior, was just filthy from the family that owned it previous (yay small children) and the thieves spray painted some graffiti on one door trim and on the rear seat. Should come off with some degreaser tho... wonderful stuff it is!

i went out and bought a new battery from kmart today, taking advantage of the 25% off sale.

Went and hooked it up and the bloody thing has barely enough charge in it to unlock the doors let alone start the car! When you buy a new battery they're meant to have at least some charge in them yes? Ah well i guess its back off to kmart tomorrow for a replacement.

Also tomorrow I'm picking up a new interior carpet, the old one had a couple holes in the driver's side so i thought it'd be best to replace the whole thing.

after getting it back on the road so far i'm just planning on getting some rims on it and dumping it fair low. Once i recoup some cash i'll play around a bit. I reckon i might go the vx berlina/calais light set up, a little bit more classy than teh monaro/regular vt back.
