to run the amp, i tapped into the rear speakers from the back of the head unit and run them into a hi-lo converter Jaycar Electronics
then from there its just rca out to the amp, so really the amp is running in parallel with the rear speakers, cheaper than changing the head unit and then getting the steering wheel buttons connected again
cheers

Ripcell, mate I like the sounds of it.. is there any change that you have some photo's of your little set up with the wiring and converters..? Cause i wouldn't mind getting my steering wheel buttons working again..
Cheers

here ya go man,
the first pic is where i tapped into the rear speakers, just run in parallel with the rears.
the other 3 pics are just the converter and the wiring of it, kinda messy, gunna stash some clips and a proper terminal block from work one day when i remember. it was actually cheaper to wire it up like that cos the converter is cheaper than a decent rca lead
hope that helps
thinkin about painting me calipers, not sure what colour i should go, thinking the traditional red, not sure...

Thanks man i appreciate you taking the photos and putting them up for me to see. Thanks mate.. gives me an idea to maybe go back to the standard head unit to get it looking standard, and using my steering wheel buttons again.
Thanks mate, may look a tad bit messy but its got the job done :P
