Default VT II Berlina V6 my new car.

    It's a 2000 build VT Series 2 Berlina V6 Auto.. With 147,000km..
It's stock all over but it has 16" VT Calais rims.. Amazon Blue.
    Purchase price $3,300.

It's currently in a Repair shop having the front repaired, I bought it as a repairable write off it's very well maintained inside and outside seems very well looked after also. I'm expecting the car to be home by early next month, then i'll be off to have the Airbags reset once the damage is fixed. Then it's RWC VIV then get it on the road..
I have only driven it 10 meters forward and then reversed it in the backyard so it was short and sweet it kicked over it didn't seem to be having any issues but time will tell.

Once on the road i have some future plans. Some done.

    Performance..

    Roller rockers.
    Pacemaker Headers.
Twin or single High flow cat/cats,
    2.5" srt exhaust. FITTED.
Stage 2 Shift kit billet Servo.
    LSD 3.46.
new rotors, police spec pads. FITTED.
MACE COLD AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR 25MM.
MACE COLD AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR 12MM.
    MACE 82deg thermostat.
    Injectors.
    Looking for 190kw's or more.

    Body..

Picked up a Manta kit no wing (thinking about one).

    Interior..

WH II Statesman International Fascia FITTED.
    WH statesman clock FITTED.
VT Calais leather auto shifter satin chrome knob FITTED.
    Titanium door vents done. FITTED.
Dash cluster full colour conversion. Done.
VZ roof sunglasses holder lights all FITTED done.
VZ leather satin chrome handbrake FITTED.
VT Calais Leather door inserts FITTED.
VT Calais suede trim. FITTED with more to come.

    Suspension..

    SL lovell springs. FITTED.
    KYB lowered shocks. FITTED.
4 point noltec camber/toe kit. FITTED.
    Nolathane front links. FITTED.
    Noltec chassis bushes. FITTED.
    Noltec mushrooms. FITTED.
    Noltec rear chassis bushes. FITTED.

wheels, I'm not really into a great deal of wheels but I'm more into factory rims, So i might just go for 19" VE SSV's rims painted black.

So i have some pic's of first look, then at home, Then at the Panel beaters.
So i will have more and more updates as time goes on I'm really looking forward to getting in and going for a spin.

What could be better, you get pulled over for doing a skid, the police offer a free adjustment, a couple of good whacks later, the reception is far clearer then ever before.

    Hope so thanks..
I spent over $5000 on the VP in2 years to see not much on the outside all hidden under skin, With this if i spend that amount i should be well and truly there, I hope.

Nice buy, but just some advice, if your gonna get rockers I'd go Yella Terra, as they are a true roller rocker, the FIT ones are just re-machined Holden ones.

Something from holden it might not be the best..
It's called Septone, Hammer Finnish Metallic blue. It's more maybe for metal then plastic but it didn't come up to badly, In the sun it's very light I hopped it would stay darker.

Nah chassis was good, I'm told don't know if it's fully true but it's sounds pretty close, they say they would rather rite a car off with insurance then repair it as the damage might cost more to fix.. So i got it as a repairable rite off.. Some things that make it sound true is it's done the drivers and passenger airbag, Parts alone to replace is upwards of $2500, Fitting and resetting etc is more, Holden Quoted me $4000-$5000 For the airbags And i was given a $5000 quote on the damage more if the rails needed to be replaced, So i can see why they paid it out rather then repair it. The cost to repair might be as much as market value?.

There's some local guys around here that decided to go into business with a body repairer to fix these cars off so the insurer could save money and they could make some money but everyone be happy in the end, They quoted me $2700 for the Airbags.

So for me i was lucky i knew a guy that has done some work on the old VP he's very good honest and doe a good job, He said if i get the parts he will do the rest so it's keeped the price down, He's also doing most of the Airbag set-up pretensioners Drivers airbag seatbelts all i need is someone to fit the passengers airbag and modual and reset the system, I got some local auto elec doing that soon for $300 so i'm really cutting price as much as i can to justify buying a damaged car and not a ready to go one.. At the end of all this i will have to sit down and see what the total price is, Roughly now it's $7000 purchase included. Viv $440 rwc $90 then it's about a $600-$700 donation to the RTA to get it on the road. But along the way i have bought some things i haven't needed but i thought WTF I'm going to enjoy it.
I even found i can get some used tyres with 80%+ tread Bridgstone Pontenza for $50 each fitting balanced..

But i have learnt many lessons out of this,
1: I shouldn't have bought a car with less damage because there are other areas that may cost more such as the Airbags.
2: I should have bought that bloody LS1 Executive they had there before i seen the Berlina, Only reason i didn't buy that was it was really badly damaged at the front like a shark had bit into it, But it didn't have airbags deployed that would have meant a very large saving there even if the damage was $5000 to repair. I'm still cursing about that Ls1 sleeper it was only $1100 more.

It's coming home tomorrow late, Went down to sneak a look my panel beater called me and said come look we just painted the panels it's great, Thought yesterday i had done a fuel pump the bloody thing wouldn't start with a full tank, Turns out it reads full but was empty.. So some fuel and she fired over little spin the auto is fine everything seems real good so that's a bonus..

So does anyone know what the problem is with it reading full but empty?.
