love the car, my fav VT/VX on this site.
But i got a question for ya. im guessing your tire placard limits you to only 17inch rims as does mine, so doesnt that mean your cars unroadworthy and the insurance company mite not pay out?
reason im asking is because im looking at getting 18 VY SS rims on my exec VT s1 but maybe forced to get 17inch VT senators instead.

Basically its just a stainless panel and the holes cut out with a hole saw...
There are bracks behind the panel keeping everything straight... Next time I take the dash apart I shall take some shots!

I have changed the placard to show 18" 245/40s which still doesnt mean it's legal but if I were to get pulled over it would serfice the coppers.
I have recently made a claim on the insurance and never had any problems. Insurance company knows the what size wheels I have on here....
If I had like 20s then it might become an issue.
Cheers for the comments to!

What is the law on wheel size?.. My placard says 15-16. Is it 2" above that?. At a guess only, I'm sure most of our models would have come with a 17" wheel option at some stage?.

SS Models came standard with 17's.
VX HSV range came with 18's...
I think rim size becomes an issue with 19's and 20's, I'd be surprised annoyed if I got done for 18's...
O well see what happens...

you do know 2 inch rule is a massive mith (anyone know where this originated from??). it comes down to the rolling diameter of the rim and tyre combined, pretty sure its 15mm bigger then the largest rolling diameter tyre/rim from that series.
for example i have a vl calais which came stock with 205/65r15 (15s bro) i can go any of these 225/40R18, 225/35R19, 225/30R20, and it will still be legal (as the tyre/rim is under the largest rolling diameter +15mm of the largest stock rim) but then you gotta match the safe load rating for that car to the tyre.

Also bugger!.. LOL, I was about to say VX GTS came with 19".. Thats how good your car looks i forgot it was a VT once upon a time .
As you said hsv came with 18" so going on the reading of the law. Largest rim on your cars series. That is 18" . all good.
I really want 19", Just encase i go 18" and i end up not liking them. That and i fell in-love with the Senator Vy rims.
