Installed replacement lighter in car today, also installed the centre console light (pretty sure calais & higher come with them).

Also washed and polished today, very very happy.

Increased negative cambar = bad tire wear = a flat tire = too much pressure by me tightening a bolt = a snapped stud...

All fun and games, just riding around on stockies ATM until I have enough to buy some decent tires and get a wheel alignment.

Yeah that's basically it, you can do 1 of 2 things...
1. Spray the VT garnish, which is what wrx884 did.

or

2. Buy a VX plain garnish and have it sprayed. I opted for this option as it meant I still had my boot garnish whilst it got sprayed. and also VX garnish doesnt have a boot lock.

Wanted to get original monaro's but @ $320 a pop I just could not justify the cost! Considering that I want HID's to match the experience would have cost close to $900.

So as it stands, $275 for the pair of altezza headlight's, $170 for a set of H1 HID's & about 2hours worth of playing around....

I can't believe the MRS actually suggested I use my tax money for this!!.

Hopefully have it all installed by the cruise to Forster...

H1 is just the specific bulb type (normal vt headlights are H4, but these new 1s are H1...)

HID are normally used on a lot of top end cars, I know the Accord EURO & S2000's use them. Click here for the 'educated' explantion...

Basically they are alot brighter than normal globes & look sweet with the projecter lamps which the altezza lights have.

Na just sitting in my back room, going HIDs so lighting should not be an issue... Gotta wait until payday...

Yeah got a 4-point K-Mac kit in the back, could use a good wheel alignment.

I think with the bumpers and lower sills, I'm gonna rub it back myself and use a compressor to spray it myself... Probably be a while before that happens.

Yeah gonna pick up the HID hopefully this Friday, then install them the week after....

I got lucky, I managed to score a set of 18 inch tires for the rear for $20 bucks thanks dynamitedave. Eases the pain of heavy camber... lol. Am going to get a good wheel alignment and see what happens.

Yeah probably going to get a vx bar in the end, should have waited for a set of taillights off a berlina/Calais which have the reflectors built in. I know what you mean about getting sick of seeing monaro taillights on VT/vx models, but I'll keep mine on for a while..

Got a present delivered @ work today..



HID's here I come... Also finally did that something that was bugging me since I got the altezza taillights, basically the blinkers on the altezza taillights are upside down in comparison to the original monaro taillights. I just thought you could swap them which did not work, they purposely made them that way (which ****s me again). So I attacked the plastic to try and make the fittings all the same so I could swap them.

Thanks mate, gotta watch out with the std commodore lights thou, because they dont have a projector beam the HID light spreads everywhere... gives ppl the s**ts. If anything get a set of altezza one's with the teardrop to suite the vx.

MRS given me the all clear to install my lights tomorrow, will post before and after shots to show the dif!
