    Default VX SS black manual

2002 series 2 vx ss commodore

motor: standard ls1 120 000km (motor has about 180,000 its from a vt, vx motor had a broken conrod snaped clean inhalf)
gearbox: 6 speed manual may as well b 5 speed tho who uses 6th gear :S
modifications: di fillipo tuned length extractors and twin 2.5" exhaust.
stick on window ariel woth atleast 80rwkw
    nothing else
planned mods: cam cam cam cam cam cam cam. ok maybe just one. maybe to mount my cb in the dash somwhere dont know where tho withoug ripping it up n cutting stuff.

1/4 mile time: 13.702 @ 102.4(not to sure about mph haha its around that one run i did was 102.6 but that was slower) with 16n head wind and 40c track temp a full tank of fuel and the spare wheel in the back on standard tyres at 30psi or somthing. so i think it has more if only a little.

fule connsumption 15L/100km or worse even on a country trip i thought it would be good on fuel better than a vn v8, anyway its not even close! vn did better than 10 country and 12 normally.

Car looks great. Fuel consumption should be much better than what you are getting. IAC valves are around $100-120 but can often be fixed with a good clean.

why do ls1s sound so much worse than 5.0L my old vn i used to love the sound, the ls1 i cant hear n when i can its nothing special. and they have no low torque(1500-4800) in a vn i change befor 4800 in a ls1 its jsut getting going :S even tho its 42ci bigger with a roller cam all things which should make the power lower better. i think i need a mafless tune.

thanks mate! probably wont bother with just a tune ill go straight to a cam when its paid off.

anyone know that gap the plugs are ment to be for a ls1 because i just put new ones in gapped at 1.6mm and it was breaking down toward the end of the track.

i'm a little excited! its nearly setember and the motorplex opens setember 2. i have done a few mods to my car now. i have an Dusspeed otr now which when i installed made a noticable difference. also the big (well not big anymore they have 2" ones!) 1 7/8" difillipo extractors and twin 3" diffillipo exhaust. and i have tuned it myself(with efi live for all who know what that is cos 3 semi openloop) which is the exciting part. it deffinantly feels faster but i want to find out what it cracks up to be like, having never tuned an electronic controlled car or any for that matter. so i want a mid 12 considering i got low 13 without a tune i'll be sure to post up my results after next wed.
