I know what you mean with the "special time" my jaw literally dropped in that last 10 seconds, I think its funny that in the description they say, cam and "other modifications" like $20000 of other mods lol
From the research I’ve done the most popular is the 230/232, 232/234. But those people are also getting 250-300km per tank... which is SH1T!
Im looking at something that gives me power from about 2000-5500, semi lumpy idle. Not a pig to drive. Get 400k's out of a tank and just make the engine run better. If it means I have to do head and cam to get to 300rwkw then so be it but I want to try and get there with just a cam for now.
I remember speaking to a guy on the coast that and a 408 stoked, cammed LS1 + other things but it was na, made something like 400rwkw. He said if he got 220k's out of a tank that was great. Shocking fuel usage!! What’s the point of having a car like that if your spending most of your time in a servo? And at an average $1.65lt, pretty expensive cruiser if you ask me.
Like with the diff gears, I want to get a separate diff with 3.9's for the track and keep my 3.07's for the road, but I don’t know if you can just swap it (alignment issues etc)
My long-term plan is when fuel reaches $2, my daily becomes a bike. The ute turns into a weekender, get club insurance, club rego and then it will cost me **** all to keep.
The only problem is that in hindsight I’ve probably bought at the worst time, V8’s will be worth dick in 3-4 years, so all the equity I had in the car because I got it for a good price will be gone and it wont be viable to sell. I bought it for $33000 (market value ~$37000), insured for $37000 @ 9.7% fixed, plus full loan protection. But in 3-4 years even if I don’t drive it, it will depreciate to $18-19000. So there’s nothing else to do but to keep it and turn it into a nice cruiser.
Sorry I don’t know how or why I started talking about that but it made sense in my head lol
