Came across a car that was too good to pass up so, Im back in another LS1![]()
Its a deceased estate that had been passed down to the guy's son.
Immaculate, original, stock, logbooks, original sales receipts, 56,000ks.![]()
The main reason everyone had overlooked it was the fact that it was fitted with a bullbar, roof racks and tow bar because the guy had planned to travel around australia with it.

I want to give a HUGE thanks to OLS108 from OLSx Performance and Jezzab from JSB Tuning for producing the most AMAZING mafless tune over the weekend
I've had low 12 second unopened LS1s before and let me tell you, this tune is far and away the most powerful, economical and driveable one I have ever had!!
Not going to set it up with 90/10s, 5000 converters and 4.11 diffs but if I did, it would be a rocket![]()
I'm really tempted to give it a run with just the tune, catback and OTR and see what she does![]()
wow another one of these lol very nice car with low k's. got anything planned for her mate? how much did u pick it up for if u dont mind me asking? oh and how much power did u make with the tune?
Thanks mate
Love your wheels
As far as mods go, Ive already arranged:
- LS6 manifold off a VZ sitting in the garage.
- Polished fuel rails
- Ordering new TB and intake port gaskets on monday
- Twin 3" exhaust sitting here waiting to go on
- MSD Leads and NGK plugs
Its all going to happen reasonably quick with this one I think.
Haven't had it on the dyno yet. From past experence it feels like it could run a high 12 with just the tune, catback and an OTR.... might be something to do next week![]()
very nice mate, gonna get hearders etc? do u reckon the ls6 manifold upgrade is worth it? ive been told to expect around the 10 rwkw increase?
LS6 is definately worth it
Even if it only shows 10rwkw, its the additional ponies that it will allow your next mods to make as well.
I may just pick up a cheap set of VY2 HSV headers for now and stick some 3" metal cats in it.
Also putting a twin 3" catback on it tonight.
nice mate let mw know how it goes its a cheap upgrade. its the only really difference between the otehr ls1's isnt it? how much did she make on the dyno man?
Haven't had it on the dyno yet. Road tuned this one
You also have 853 heads instead of the 241 heads in VX-on cars.
Later heads are cast differently and can show small gains. For the effort involved, you are much better off (time/$$$ vs gain) getting a set of 243 heads or aftermarket ones.
I personally will probably not bother changing them.
VTs also have a "weaker" bottom end and really need rod bolts if you want to spin them hard.
Then again, if you aren't racing it, you'll never need to do a thing so don't worry![]()
ah yes nice. yeh dont think im gonna race this much just gonna see wat she can do. wouldnt mind getting her in the 11's with a cam etc. got some diff gears sitting here, so with that and tune etc hoping for a 12.5 not sure if thats possibale though.
You probably need a stall to go mid 12s.
With tune, OTR, exhaust and diff gears, you'd typically be looking at anywhere from low 13s to a max 12.70s @ 110mph.
A nice tight stall converter will see you in the mid to low 12s
Add a baby cam for a flat 12 to high 11.
really? my tuner told me i could expect 12's with just tune, otr and exhaust. might have to get down to caulder when it opens up again
Phonsy can tune thats for sure
People HAVE gone high 12s with just tune, exhaust and OTR so it is possible.
Only one car has EVER done that in QLD though (highlander_69)
Personally I have gone 12.80@110mph with tune, exhaust, diff gears and Bunnings OTR with one of my old LS1s.
Then went straight to a stall.
lol yeh he doesnt do a bad job, really knows his stuff. id be pretty happy with a 12.8 with those mods mate good job
EVERYONE loves the Bunnings OTR

Well, we fitted up the twin 3" exhaust last night.
Big thanks to DonutKing
Car feels MUCH stronger and surprisingly seems to have picked up gains in the low end and mid range
I wasn't sure what exhaust was on the car and it was a bit of a shock.
Twin 2.5" mandrel bent, one-piece custom exhaust with an H-pipe.
So that's why it sounded so good
Why pay $100 to a workshop and sit in a waiting room, when you could get together with mates, jump in and have some fun playing with cars![]()
Oh WOW !!! that is a GREAT find with that low amount of kms !!!!
