    Cool My new VT

    Hey everyone.
I purchased the car late last week.

    '98 Series 1 Acclaim.

It's in pretty good condition, had to put on a new door handle and get the rear panel painted but that only cost me $70 all up.

    Mods:
    -Removed badges.
    -Changed side indicators to clear.
    -17" rims.
    -Premium plates.
-Change tail lights, to the series 2 clear ones.

    Future mods:
    -Lower!
-Stereo, probably a cheap sony head unit and 2 6x9s in the parcel shelf will do.
    -Remove tow bar.
-Possibly remove side strips, not certain though as I do spend a lot of time in shopping centre car parks. They are ugly though.

That's about all, not going over board or anything because I'll probably only have the car a year or so.
I had an awesome stereo system in my last car, which i wrote off and couldn't get most of it out. Only the amp which I will put in this when I get the new stereo stuff. Don't want to spend $2000 on sound this time.

I'm happy with it at the moment.

Ordered new tail lights today - Holden VT SR2 Commodore Sedan Tail Light Set (NEW) - eBay Tail Lights, Lights, Indicators, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 03-Dec-08 14:03:09 AEDST)
Hopefully they turn up without any worries.

Next things on the list are remove the tow bar and side strips.

Do you think it is worth colour coding the bumpers?
I can get it done at cost basically, any examples of where its been done and how it turns out?

I couldn't actually tell you at the moment.
They weren't the ones I ordered.
The guy got down to Sydney to find they only had 3 of the ones I wanted.
These were the closest he could find, I think they actually look better then the ones I originally picked out.
Cost me $1,000 for wheels and tires.

It might be lower then stock, it does have basically new suspension and front end.
Like that when i bought it.
I think another inch and a half or two inches lower would be nice.

Trolley strips will be gone on the next hot day.
From what I have read on these forums I need to find a caramel wheel first though.
I might go to look for that tomorrow.

New tail lights should turn up in the next few days, hopefully monday or tuesday.
I'm also about to buy a white dash cluster face. I like how they stand out.
