DVS's VT

[DVS]

Hi guys this my VT. I have had it for about 5 years now. I bought it with the bodykit already fitted. Slowly modified it throughout the years.

Model: VT 1998, V6 Ecotec.

Engine Mods
*Exhaust: Hurricane extractors, 2.5" redback exhaust no rear muffler.
*Gearbox: Auto with corvette servo and upped force motor pressure.
*Rockers: FIT high ratio rockers 1.9:1
*Memcal: Doctor Bob's memcal.

Interior Mods
*Seats: VX SS blue leather seats and door inserts.
*Chrome calais door handles.

Exterior Mods
*Mags: Original 18" CV8-R
*Bodykit: VT Clubsport (not original) Had the spoiler removed 1 year after purchase.
*Headlights: Original Monaro
*Suspension: King springs. Front KHFL-47SL , Rear KHRL-46SSL
*4 Point camber kit




Future mods:
* Series 2 tail lights
* Rear muffler and better suited tail pipes.

Great looking car mate, I wouldn’t have thought white with a blue inertia would work. But your vt pulls it off very nicely. Maybe add a supercharger to the future mods list

Cars lookin good there man, good 2 see u got the genuine monaros 2 much better than the altezzas 4 sure. Only thing i could suggest is 2 tone the rear and side skirts 2 match the front bar and mayb some darker tint.

Hey rch-13z, thanks for the comments. I live in Smithfield. The headlights were a good mod, so much improvement over the standard lights.

Thanks very much, yeah I agree on the Monaro lights. Found them at a price I couldn't refuse. The rear bar is colour matched just didn't have the pic up. I thought about doing the side skirts but just left it as it is.

Some darker tint would be good. Any ideas on how much it would cost for tint and removal as well?

And how do the FIT rockers go? I have heard they sometimes can make a ticking sound and putting a bit of stress on the engine with the extra push? Otherwise did you notice a real difference?

I have had a 4 point rear camber/toe-in kit fitted. Rear tyres wear out evenly.

My rockers were the 1.9:1, first type that were made by FIT. Had no noise from them and no issues at all. It's been around 4 years since fitting them and still going strong.
You will notice a difference for sure. The car feels much faster all round.

incredibly clean looking car manski. wish mine was as clean just curious as to how much of a hassel it was getting the SS interior in there? i would like to do something similar but not too sure how all the vents on the front trims and centre console will will go? if its from a VX or even VY? are they a straight R&R or was there some tweaking involved?

have you thought of getting the VX boot insert on the back there? tidies it right up. unless you like the look of all the extra reflective stuff?

no idea what type of lights they are though..

I bought the mags a few years back for $1050 new with nuts and centre caps but without tyres.

I wanted to get tints done but it looks likely to be some better brakes. Comming back from the national park on Sunday they were non existant I'm thinking of getting some better rotors and pads maybe slotted dba/rda?, i'm unsure yet looking at prices.

Hey thanks, the car looks clean but its not lol the paint has swirls and fine scratches, trying to get it sorted out.

The interior was straight forward, just have to remember to remove positive terminal on battery, something to do with the airbag system. My seats were from a vx ss, not sure if vy's fit. The door inserts are removable so that's the only thing you change over, everything stays the same.

Never thought of a vx garnish, i like the look as it is. I don't want to fit any aftermarket tail lights, but i wonder how the series 2 lights will look with vx garnish. Maybe a quick photochop will tell Edit: I won't have reverse lights lol
