Tried opening my doors with the key button but doesnt work and when i manually open it the alarm goes off. I try to start the car with the key and it just keeps the alarm going and wont start. Is there any way to bypass the alarm/central locking and use manually? I presume the key is flat and cant get to holden as my car wont start..... any ideas???
u could of taken a taxi there or a bus in the time u wait for someone to reply.
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
it happened last night so nothing is open til monday, but i thank you for your input
Who fitted the alarm? Holden or is it aftermarket?
Pop the bonet and disconnect the alarm first.
The car should start unless theres an electronic immobilizer.
If theres an immobilizer then ur best to call out a locksmith that can program a new key.
didnt think it would be that simple to disconnect the alarm while keeping the battery on?
Im no car expert but thought holden woulda put in a little more effort than that!
well i rang brian gardners and they said 140 bucks and i hads to take the car to them.
I rang a locksmith and he said 120 bucks and i had to take the car to him.
I rang mister minit in morley and its 130 bucks but i dont have to take the car to him, how can a bloke in a shopping centre do it wothout the car being there and holden cant. Ridiculous.
If that happened to me I'd just call NRMA (not sure what ur equivilant is in perth, racv or something) and let them sort it out
how much is it for them 2 replace the battery or do they have 2 change the whole key one of mine has gone flat need 2 get it fixed

The battery is stamped/pressed to the terminals, Its not easy getting the battery out but it can be replaced with a bit of patience.
Then you can solder or glue the terminal onto the new battery.
They wont replace just the battery. Its about $50 give or take for a new key head.
