This has probably been asked before but I couldn't find it in the search, what is required to upgrade the vy acclaim cluster to a vy calais one? Is it just as simple as plugging it in or is there extra wiring needed and programing?
I'm pretty sure that if it's the same series than you just plug in your new one and program it to suit.
A Commodore is a passion. Anything else is just a car
As above, make sure it's from the same series. Putting a series2 cluster into a series1 car (or the other way around) will result in the fuel gauge and all other related functions (e.g. distance to empty) to read backwards!
The cluster also needs to be reprogrammed for the right number of cylinders, differential ratio, airbags and odometer reading (probably transmission too) if they are different to the donor car - if it's programmed for something completely different it won't prevent you from driving the car but the readings will be off, and it might throw up an airbag fault.
The programming is done via tech2 once the cluster is in the car afaik. Other then that, it's a matter plug and play![]()
