hi i was just wondering if anyone knows a mechanic in sydney who can convert my vy v6 from auto to manual i hope someone can help me
me too out of curousity
I'm probly not going to be much help, but im guessing that this conversion will be in excess of $5000, unless you can source a good second hand gearbox, pedals, etc yourself from a wreckers or somewhere else...
Just get the yellow pages / or online, and do a search of the local businesses in your area, ring them up and ask them, on the two occaisions I wanted to convert my cars to manuals, my old VT, and later on my VY, I was recommended numerous times by the guys at work to just sell my car and buy a manual... being an apprentice (plant mechanic) at the time, and not wanting to take on the task by myself, I just scrapped the idea...
But goodluck with the whole idea, it'd be good to see some more manual commodores out there...
Paul Knott Automotive @ Moorebank have converted the earlier VR-VS models.
I remember seeing a write up in a magazine, years ago.
I dont know if they will attempt the newer models.
