Just get new springs. They aren't that expensive.
jus get new springs man i got sssl kings in the bak of mine sits hel lo but looks fat
thay will lower the car about 2" to 3" and thay are half the price as new one. i can get the for $100, and i was just wondering how the car would ride and if thay would be any good because that thay are RESET
oh k i dunno man i never had reset springs
It wouldnt be as good as getting lowered springs, as the spring rates are different, the new ones are made out of thicker steel, so they don't compress as much over bumps etc...
Man you've got a VY, don't be a tight arse, lol, for the matter of a few $$$ do it right.. the first time...
Kings/lovells you can pick up for around $130 - $140 a set, fronts, or rears.. so $260 - $280 for all four.. then you'll never have to worry about them, then in the near future when your shocks flog out, get some lowered shocks to suit the springs...
someone correct me if im wrong, but from my undestanding. compressed springs are spring that are heated up and compressed and left to set. the more the springs are compressed the 'dodgier' they are. to my understanding, people compress there springs if they want a height that sits inbetween what kings or lovells or whatevr offer. ie. they want it lower than sl but higher than ssl.
i'd just buy new springs dude, and go from there.
cheers ppl. yeah ill just get some new ones. i just seen them on Ebay thats all
cheers again
IMO don't get King, every car I have had them in it is such a harsh hard ride.
Get Lovells, ride heaps nicer on them, than any King spring commodore I have been in.
Extractors, 100cpi ballistic cats, Sureflo 3.5" medium exhaust, DUS OTR, Oztrack Tune, Phreddy dash, stereo, black windows, Lovell springs, and a good alarm
I have lovells super lows? (what ever is the lowest with lovells?)
And it is anything but a smooth ride...
Probly because the cars you get in have sssl in them?
Naturally the lower you go, the harder the ride will be..
kings, pedders, lovells, they all are a rougher ride to stop the car bottoming out and help handling with the reduced body roll, the struts is where you pay more attention, pedders have the same similar lowered struts (which should be done when lowering anyway) with a comfort ride or sports ride, just different pressures but definitely you can tell the difference in the same car once they were changed. If different cars ride different, its usually coz of a lot of things, tyre brand, profile size, rim size, condition of bushes, rubbers, and a full car load of people, massive sub boxes, and a heap of other crap.
