G'day.
Ok, So i went and cleaned my car today, Brang it home and parked it normally, On a slight hill.
I had to move it as my mum had to get out, Took the hand brake off, then went to park it, went to pull the hand brake up and nothing. doesnt make that clicking noise when pulling it up or anything.
So any help would be great.

Sounds like the cable has snapped or the handbrake button isn't disengaging.
Try taking the handbrake boot off and seeing if the button is working as it should.
I'm also pretty sure you can get access to the handbrake cable under the center console, though I'm not sure as its been AGES since I've fiddled with a Holden.
Does it get heavy to pull up as your pulling it up? Or it the lever just moving without any tension?
Yeah, gets heavy as per normal. I think you may be right with the button not working.
How would i fix that? Whole new hand brake lever?

Ok, I've found the problem, The button has disconnected from the metal park inside the handbreak if that makes sense. lol.
I'll let ya know how i go.

Just a tip...
When you pull your handbrake up you will hear that clicking sound.
That clicking sound is the teeth on the hadnbrake clicking. This means you are slowly wearing away the teeth everytime you reef it up.
Try pushing the button in when you pull the handbrake then release it to lock it in place.
Might save you teeth in the long run![]()

Ahhh yeah. The VY must be different to the VT handbrake, the VT one doesnt want to come out
Going to have to create a thread and see if anyone knows how to get the VT-VX handbrake button out.
