Taking apart flip compartment in console? HELP!

Hi,

I have a VY2 Berlina. I have the console with the push flip lid next to the window switches in the centre. Today I went to woolies and got in the car and dropped my bloody ATM card in the console behind the door by accident!! I cant get it out with tweezers and I cant figure out how to pull the thing apart. Does anyone know at all??

Its just a matter of removing the centre plastic trim between the gear lever & console lid:

Yep as above. The compartment is screwed in from underneath so you have to remove the plastic console trim anyway.

To disengage the 6 clips, use your fingers and a flathead screw driver wrapped with tape (so you don't damage the plastic) to prise up the plastic trim where the clips are. Start with the two back clips, then the middle, then the front.

I have done the exact same thing, and it is almost impossible to retrieve anything bloody thing that falls down there hey. I'm thinking of getting rid of it altogether as my kids have now broken the latch and the flap stays up now! lol Good luck with it. Paul.
