VY S2 V6 making ticking noise

Hi guys, i have a VY S2 executive V6, and i noticed the other day its making a ticking noise from the passenger side of the engine, but only when the engine is at running temp, it Makes no noise when cold. any ideas whats wrong?? im a bit worryed, thanks for your time

top or bottom of the engine ? when was the last time you changed your oil ?? if its black and watery its probably too thin ... or maybe you have a dead lifter or rocker. Both are relatively painless to replace, but change the oil first.

hi thanks for your reply, it sounds like its comming from the bottom of the engine, oil was changed 1000km ago, car has always had regular services and had oil and oil filter replaced every 5000km,

if its coming from the bottom it could be serious, better have a closer look or get a mechanic to check it out. is it loosing power ?

had a closer look, the noise is comming from the top of engine on the passenger side above the spark plugs, any ideas??

probably just your rockers - mine tick all the time.

Is the noise coming from under either rocker cover? If so, could simply be a sticky lifter.

yeah it seems to be comming from the right hand side / passenger side of the rocker cover

Ive noticed holdens engines are generally noisy annoying as it causes paranioa.

what oild do you or your mechanic use ?
