Walkinshaw performance has LS3 crate engines for $7k, I have the cash spare thanks to a chunky tax return and wondering if it'll fit, if so what parts will I need on top of the engine. Obviously a gear box (any suggestions what I should source?) but anything else?
Update: Just ordered an L76 crate engine, now in order to get ready will the gearbox that comes out with an L67 fit the engine? (guessing not) if it does will it hold together? (probably not) so back to asking what gearbox if the above two questions are answered NO.
The L67 auto won't work behind a V8 unless you get it modified. The bell housing, stator shaft, iput shaft are different. Other than that the boxes are the same bar the 2nd apply servo. If you are getting the auto rebuilt you may as well convert but if not a wrecker special from an LS1 will do the trick.................for a while

Just get a new 4L65E not hugely expensive.
VZ V8 4L65E AUTO TRANSMISSION this is one dealer, though I'm sure I've seen them for $2000 odd in a Street Commodores magazine.
