Question Replacing speaker grill in drivers door?

    Hey guys,

Im just wondering if its possible to replace just the speaker grill section of the drivers door on a VY? Or is the door trim basically one peice?

I haven't really taken notice before myself, hence asking here, but im looking at buying a VY II Exec so I can get rid of the liberty and I found one I quite like but the speaker grill on the drivers side door is broken a bit.

    Any help is much appreciated

The speaker grilles are separate parts, held on by a number of small circular spring clips and a self tapper. Remove the door trim and it's quite a simple job to replace the grille. No idea of the cost though.

I changed mine recently , you can get to the speaker cover by just undoing the bottom screws of the door trim & pulling the lower section out about 150mm , then put a block of wood inbetween the door trim & the door to hold it open , then you can undo the circlips & screws & swap it over with a new one , I bought a pair of them LH & RH for $45 on Ebay. Those circlips are a bugger to get off without wrecking them though , I used silastic to hold the new cover in place as most of the circlips were unusable.

I purchased new clips for a buck a piece from the local dealer. That seems a bit dear but the grilles won't move once they are clipped on with new clips. It's much easier to remove and replace the clips with the door trim removed though and for the additional effort, I reckon this is the best and neatest way of doing things.

Acclaims also have rear power windows... lol..

Not sure about the cup holders, theres two in the front, and two on the little seat that flips down in the back??

And those little 'clip' things, its possible to re-use them, you just cut the tabs off that the 'clips' hold onto, on the speaker grille itself, UNDERNEATH the 'clip' (closest to the door trim) - with a pair of side cutters, then push the little bits of plastic tabs out the way that you push the clip on to it.. Un-damaged, and free!! lol

You guys should have started off by buying a Berlina in the first place. Not much difference in price to Acclaims or Execs and quite a bit of extra gear, without all the Calais goodies and price.
