Hey guys,
Turns out i need to replace my powersteering pump, i've had all the pipes and seals replaced and i'm still leaking power steering fluid.
I've been quoted roughly $450 to replace the pump (parts included) although i've found this on ebay
Commodore 6cyl Power Steering Pump VN VP VR VS VT VX VY - eBay Other Suspension, Steering, Suspension, Steering, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 19-Aug-09 20:35:14 AEST)
Correct me if that's not the part i need or if there's more involved. Too me $350 seems a little steep for labour.
Is there that much involved in replacing the pump? If not, would you suggest i give it a go myself.
Cheers
Check out my ride!
Power steering pump is a breeze, undo low pressure line and drain fluid out of reservoir, remove fluid container, undo high pressure line, undo 2 bolts between pulley pull pump out, replace o ring seal on high pressure line, reverse procedure to re-install and bleed(not sure about v6 procedure, i'd imagine it would be no different.
Cost me $180 for new PS pump for a VY Senator, took 2.5 hours to replace alternator and power steering pump from start to finish including getting new pump/alternator.
