The off the line punch will be much better and fuel economy will be better than stock because there is more readily available power with less throttle. Trick is not to mash it everywhere.

What pulley is your friend "making"? Hope it's 87mm

What sort of power gain? "monstrous" would be a good word

Fuel economy on the L67 will not be affected by a change in pulley size, unless you put the boot in. Normal easy driving is off boost due to the bypass valve on the M90 blower, but of course when you put the boot in, the valve closes, boost builds, and with the boost on you will use more fuel because there is more air going in.

So drive gently, fuel economy will remain good, but fang it everywhere, and it will be worse.
