The passenger side cup holder in my VY Berlina is broken, the ring is kinda snapped off and it doesnt click in close so it just stays open.
How big of a job is it to replace?
Go into holden ask for a Diagraam of where it goes?? cuz they normally give it out if there pretty good blokes of google it..
was gonna cost me $350 for 2 cupholders alone from holden, so i said forget it lol
Ill get them second hand from a wreckers. Or ill use my discount to get them cheap from work.
Either way can someone please explain to me how to remove the center bit so I can get to the cup holders? Does just the center bit remove or does more of the dash have to come off? Do you have to remove the surround from the gear knob?
My manual is missing the 10 pages that describes how to do this, how convenient.
It's not a big job (only takes 5 minutes if you know what your doing, and already have tools to remove the radio) but will be fiddly if you've never taken the console apart before.
You have to remove the radio (requires special tool), "Floor console cover assembly" and "Instrument panel center trim assembly".
The cupholders are screwed in to the plastic instrument panel trim from the back.
See here for instructions how to dismantle parts of the center console:
How to: Remove Dash and Center Console VY-VZ
And here for instructions on making DIY tools to remove the radio:

The cupholders are actually from SAAB, which could explain the ridiculous pricing.
